It looks like this software will automatically update itself, invalidating the giveaway version since no updates are allowed (No free updates; if you update the giveaway, you may lose it). Their websites states under the Update section: “WinLube contains an update mechanism which automatically updates to the newest available version.”
Usually the customer has control over whether updates are installed.
There seemed to be little control by the user as to what this program does to the computer, other than some grouping of sections. Due to the risks of a generic solution, and based on what I see on their website (and the other comments), I am leery of this offer. A great deal more details would be helpful. If I can justify a spare machine, I might test it.
