When I tried to run the installed program, using the shortcut created during installation, I got a message to the effect that it was looking for a .msi (installation) file rather than the installed executable file, on a resource that was not accessible. I deleted that shortcut and created a new one, pointing to the correct executable file, and the program now runs.
