Further info to my previous post:
Guess what! I have installed today ClassicShell Start Menu, now it’s discontinued, but still working on win 10 1803, and all these problems with my icons are now gone! The icons are now all appearing on my desktop and the task-bar. Restarted the computer several times, just to make sure that all my icons come on. And yes!!! They do! Awesome!
Therefore I am definitely removing the Start Menu X off my machine.
Sigh!
