Both SoS and xSecuritas web site have ample doc on program features but not on the mechanics of how the program is used.
1. I assume that the executable that is downloaded through the SoS hub, is downloaded to and installed on the Windows PC and not the USB, ext HDD, etc that you want to encrypt.
2. I also assume that the Windows installed program is then started/used to setup the encryption on the target, ie the USB, ext HDD.
3. I also assume that once the target USB is encrypted, the USB can be moved to another PC and the executable required to decrypt the USB is located in the root of the USB drive as a result of step 2.
The reason I ask is, I don’t want the executable downloaded in step 1 to decrypt the HDD drive that the install is being executed from. It also wouldn’t make sense if the only PC that could encrypt/decrypt the USB is the original PC that the USB Safe Guard program was installed on.
Can someone clarify the mechanics of how the program is used?
