I tried a variety of free and paid-for emails at [ https :// skylum. com/nphoto-luminar ] and nothing ever arrived from Skylum.

Never mind – misspelling in my cut-and-paste buffer found and fixed.

Hand on experience:

1. Registration is arduous BUT I like that they keep a registration at their site so I can re-download stuff ( I will reinstall Aurora, for example ).

2. They claim to want to organize my pictures … my pictures are NOT disorganized, thank you very much.

3. They seem to want OpenGL 3.3, and want me to try to update my graphics drivers … I clicked on [ Classic B&W ] when looking at a color image file, and it can’t figure out how to show me this picture in black and white.

4. It then crashed and exited with an [ Unknown software exception ].

So good so far for FREE Google Picasa – I’ve yet to see ANY program beat FREE Google Picasa at what FREE Google Picasa does.

While I appreciate programmers having fun and designing things on THEIR workstations, the real world out here has no such luxuries, and the competition KNOWS all too well what Skylum folks seem to be unaware of, or what Skylum folks hope that we consumers/proprietors are unaware of:

— FREE IrfanView
— FREE Google Picasa
— FREE Adobe Photoshop CS ( look it up )

… and those have versions for all Windows PCs, or work on all Windows PCs, no special software or drivers needed.

I’ll reboot and try again, and maybe try another computer.
