Did I interpret the results at the virustotal.com pages reached by clicking on the “Anti-virus scan results” links correctly? They seemed to indicate that both download links had one virus.
Despite this, I decided to download the program and check it with my antivirus program (Comodo) before installing. Comodo and Ad-Aware both found nothing wrong.
However, I was not able to install the program. I got the license key by email (as I have done with other offers from sharewareonsale.com) but had no opportunity to use it when running the .exe file. Instead a pop-up appeared with this: “A required privilege is not held by the client.”
So I tried downloading the program (the .exe file — ashampoo_backup_2016_23286.exe) from the other download link. Same “required privilege” message.
What is going on?
(When I clicked on Submit below, a pop-up appeared here asking me to select a rating. How can I? I haven’t been able to install and try the program. I have clicked on one star since I have to choose something.)
