Dieses Giveaway ist nur Bauernfängerei, damit werden User als Versuchskaninchen angelockt und ausgenutzt. Letztlich bekam ich keine Aktivierung und diesen Hinweis, mich an den Support zu wenden. Ich erhielt keine Antwort auf meinen dreimaligen Mails und wurden von diesen überheblichen Strolchen ignoriert. Diese Aktionen sind eine Verarschung, nur so viel, wie in die hohle Hand geschissen. Ein Support der nicht reagiert und User ausschmiert, ist für den Abort (Klo)! Das was Vladonai Software hergibt ist nur eine verlängerte Trialversion. Die Online-Aktivierung hat
a: ein Ablaufdatum und ist
b: an die Hardware gebunden.Nach max. einem Jahr ist diese abgelaufen, mit Hinweis “Trial expired”. Für dieses Affentheater wollen diese Strolche offline aktivieren. Diese unschöne Erfahrung habe ich bereits mit 3 (drei) Vorversionen gemacht. In deren Beschreibung zu dieser Software finde ich keinen Heinweis auf eine zeitlimitierte Lizens und wird mit schönfärberischem Gerede umgangen. Ergo: das ist Diebstahl von Lebenszeit aller User die hinter das Licht geführt werden, mit Etikettenschwindel!

Von Online-Aktivierungen bin ich ein strikter Gegener. Ein dabei sehr wahrscheinlicher Datenabfluss ist unkontrollierbar und die Möglicht besteht zudem, dass Schadsoftware implementiert werden kann. Kurios finde ich die verschlüsselte Keyfile mit einer Größe von etwa 12 bis 14 kb. Wozu? Finger weg von Giveaways die nicht offline per Serial aktiviert werden können, das sind “faule Eier”. Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle ist besser und immer angebracht. Zur Installation den Netzzugang trennen, dass kein “Ramsch” nachgeladen werden kann. Wenn alle Anwender das konsequent machen ist die Online-Aktivierung ganz schnell ausgerottet.
So one just needs to save the allmynotes_b840.key file, and copy it in the install folder after a Windows clean reinstall, right ?
You got it right, I would like to highlight two other moments:
1. You must use the installer you got from this promo, other app versions will not accept this .key file.
2. The .key file is linked to the hard drive serial number. If you install to different hard drive, you’ll need to clone serial from old HDD to new one, there is many software utilities that can help with this task.Also, any plans for making the program high DPI-aware ?

I tried and bought this program years ago, but did not use much. I find that I now have a few reasons to use it, so installed new version on my laptop. Does not look all that different from V2.85 that is on my main PC (last V2 I downloaded as part of the lifetime license), but I may still pay for this latest upgrade to V3. The only problem I have with it, I can not set the backup to a folder on any of my network drives. All it shows is the root and even then, it will not change to it/show it as the backup target.
This is an easy to use program and support is outstanding.Thanks for all you do, Ashraf!

You can, but you have to type in full network path manually.

Just to clarify the process to reinstall All My Notes later if needed, because going through the thread again I realise some of the language there might be misleading. I presume the right way is to make sure you have saved the All My Notes installer that has been downloaded during the SoS offer, then run it again to reinstall the program (after a Windows reinstall, for instance).

**However, just restoring the installation folder which is at C:\Program Files (x86) wouldn’t work, even with the .key file in it, since it would miss all the registry keys that installing the program creates (as is the case with any installed program). Correct ?
Tried to apply changes in SkinInfo.ini file advised in that forum thread to adjust skin : font size changes did not change anything.

The forum now rejects my identifiers. I may have deleted former identifiers from my records after my registration was rejected.Anyway, I have tried the last trick you’ve given in the forum (delete // in the .ini file), and it works — as far as font types and sizes are concerned. However, enlarging fonts does not enlarge accordingly the interface elements which contain them (toolbars, menus…), so the text becomes cropped out and partly invisible.
I can see in the .ini file that there might be code in there to enlarge those interface elements as well, but this gets too complex and is akin to reprogramming the software. If one wants to have a neat and tidy interface, changing a few sizes here and there with no visibility at all on the result is useless. The whole design has to be in harmony, and that’s not something that the end user can do with small hacks such as those. There has to be a command somewhere to instruct the computer to do the scaling itself, which appears to be lacking.
On top of that, my advice would really be to reconsider the aesthetics of the program. I know this is a sensitive issue and you have a strong opinion on the subject, but I tried to buy into All My Notes repeatedly, and was driven away each time because of that (on top of high DPI non-compliance). Neither of the two icon sets is beautiful or practical. I mean it’s a real hindrance, not just a matter of not particularly liking the look of them.
Holy Crown is clever but it will never work, whatever colour adjustments may be applied. You just can’t read the icons. Barring any redesign from scratch, my advice would be to start from Deep and add some colours. Why all that grey and black ? We’ve paid dearly to have colour on our computers. Keep it light, however. Don’t drop the whole bucket of paint on the screen. Right now there is too much colour in the program. Either that, or it’s black and white.
