    Bonjour,

INDEED, just as Fadi posted, there is definitely no “ACTIVATE” listed under Help (as the instructions directed for registering the SoS exclusive license key)!!!

What then are the new instructions please?

The percentage might not change due to one person voting. If 300 people have voted up or down, then 1 more vote can only increase or decrease by 0.33 percent. Since the total shown is rounded to whole numbers, this isn’t enough to change the number until more people vote. (sorry, I have only a small understanding of French language and had to use Google Translate)

The installer asked me about two options, one to add a desktop shortcut, and this one:

[ ] Use system window frame (recommended)

I don’t know what happens if I check that or leave it blank. There’s nothing I could find on their website. A Google search returned many hits about something called Telegram in a specific Ubuntu installation wanting to do the same thing. I have many many years of computing experience and have never seen this before. WHY would AVS ask something like this without any explanation? Is this something I can change later? What are benefits and disadvantages of doing this? If it’s all benefits, why would they need to ask? Why is it a secret?

Yes, there is nothing called “Activate” in the Help menu. Going to Help>About>License shows only the current license information, offers no way to activate. So how did I activate the program? At the end if the installation process, it asked if I want to run the program. I checked that box. The program started. A small window popped up with this text:

    AVS4YOU Activation
Please enter your license key, after that click the OK button.

I copied the license key, pasted it into this box, and clicked OK button. Actually, since I copied the key before installing, it already showed in the box. I only needed to click OK. I don’t know how others could miss this, or maybe the download file was fixed after earlier comments (then WHY didn’t anyone say something about it being updated?)

A “Script error” pops up while trying to read the built-in help, not a good sign. Something about Google Tag Manager. Maybe my antivirus or add blocker is preventing the scripts from running, but why are they needed in a help file?

This program seems to be aimed at those wanting to make a DVD or Bluray disk. It has a LOT of transitions and menu background “styles” and many look good, actually usable. That’s what made me want to try this program. Editing is limited, but lots of other programs let you add sounds/music, text, picture-in-picture, voiceovers, convert formats. Or you can buy more programs from AVS to do all this.

I have been using AVS products for at least 10 years, possibly longer. Way back I bought their lifetime registration that covered all their products. I can say that they are a very trustworthy company and do respond to any requests for assistance. Even now that licence remains active. I’ve infrequently used about 50% of their products from time to time and always found them to work flawlessly and effectively.
As I say, I am just a very satisfied customer and own that paid licence (can’t remember what it cost, wasn’t an arm and a leg ;)
Just saying this to ally any fears anyone may have on their reliability.

I confirm that was also in the 6.3.2 version, but I did not know that until today. Previously, I had not used the Help feature.

Today, I gave the 6.3.2 version a much better test than I had before. I took an hour video that had several places I wanted to remove, and allowed the “Auto” scene changes to be located. That divided the original file into 2,167 parts. I noticed that the thumbnail view was one off from what was played, which made it difficult to select which scenes I wanted to Delete. When I did finish, I let Auto-Remaker recombine the file. When I played the result video, nearly every phrase is repeated in rapid succession. It was intolerable to watch.

I mention the 6.3.2 version because I do not have enough time to test the 6.4.3 version the same way. Has anyone seen the same problem in either of these two releases?

    Dear customer,

Let us inform you, that AVS software has plenty of opportunities for your work with multimedia files. We work with almost all popular video and audio formats and our programs have a wide range of functions.

As for AVS Video Remaker, the advantage of this program is the possibility to edit video and save them without re-encoding. So the quality of the video in this case will not be affected.

It supports different formats as well as allows capturing video of your actions on desktop or transferring video from DV and VHS cameras to hard drive.

Another advantage is that you can split your video in AVS Video Remaker and save its parts as separate multimedia files (this feature is not available in AVS Video Editor and AVS Video Converter).

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

We look forward to welcoming you as our client!

    Best regards,

    Dear customer,

We appreciate your interest in AVS4YOU software.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact, that there will not be the “Activate” button on the “Help” tab, in case you have already activated AVS applications on your PC.

In this case, we recommend you to use the license key for 1-year AVS Video Remaker subscription on any other PC or send it to somebody as a gift.

If it doesn’t resolve the issue or you have any questions left, feel free to contact us at [email protected]. Our managers will be glad to help you to resolve your issues as soon as possible.
    Thank you!

    Best regards,
