Oh, this is ONE big program with license ‘keys’ for features, the other features not turned on by license ‘keys’ are trials, this is not a DVD ripper.

The trials appear to be 3-tries per month for features not included in the license ‘key’.

The trial crashed for me on a wonky DVD, I updated this, and it still crashed.

So I went back to WinX DVD Ripper, which did not crash – the ‘chapter’ I’m trying to record messes up and saves a different size file with each attempt, cleaning and polishing the disk surface in between, but no crash.

DVDFab is doing some incredible programming, just not the right programming if it crashes.

Thanks for letting us explore this and share.

Yes, another case of too many limitations canceling out much value here. Think I’ll stick with the *full* Fab 11 that I had, which is reportedly a lot less buggy than Fab 12 editions, and still does what I occasionally need it to do. (Though I generally prefer to default to the free MakeMKV for these tasks.) There have been some reports of the user operability of Fab 11 having gotten withdrawn by Fengtao, though I personally have not experienced that.

This is one fucked up registgration process. This program is not worth the hassle.

Way to difficult to authorize this software. In my experience with this company, they are constantly trying to get you to update to another version of the software, and if you click OK, then you lose your license. Not a good idea. Most people do not need over 100 programs specialized to do the few tasks that need doing. Who wants to pay for 100s of programs when one well written program can do it all for less. Most people have given up blu rays and Dvd’s in favor of streaming. DVD players are available without encryption for 37 dollars everywhere. DVD ripper programs are available everywhere…..

Definitely not for moi, or most other true film buffs. Streaming services are way too limited. Library selection wise. (How many subscription services are you going to pay for ?) Overloaded bandwidth, particularly in the evenings when everyone is ON, resulting in repeated buffering and the stream quitting on you. Local playback of material already on hand gets you away from all that.
