    Bonjour,
Je viens d’installer le logiciel file menu tools et j’ai constaté qu’il est très pratique et utile.
Il nous permet de gagner du temps.
    MERCI.

When you go through the installation process, there is an option to CREATE DESKTOP SHORTCUT. After checking that you want a desktop icon, the installation program does NOT create a shortcut! You have to do this manually from Program Files >> Lopesoft in your C:\ drive (or wherever you have the program installed).

I always used “sendtotoys” or “Kels CPLBonus” on my XP machines. I haven’t used either since getting Win 7, Win 8.1 and Windows 10. I like this program better because it seems to have more functions. I don’t know how to use them all but over time I will figure it out. Thank you for a great freebie!

[@Paul aka magiccrpet] I did not see the option to CREATE DESKTOP SHORTCUT. When it was done installing, I saw the desktop icon “Configure FileMenu Tools”.

Clairvaux makes a very powerful argument against this program (saying that it makes lots of changes automatically without asking for permission). I’m wondering if there is way to use it (eg a Preference or Option) that allows it to be used properly – such that it makes no changes other than ones you actively choose?

I’m NOT plugging a program, and no I don’t work for whoever it is… but I get around all these fears of programs screwing up my system by running a thing called Shadow Defender. When I select my C drive only as the protected area, screw what things try to do, I just reboot and it’s gone. I have all my data on other drives, and only “shadow” my OS or C: drive. Works like a charm, and I can check out anything and just reboot if I don’t like. Everybody needs something like that, it just happens to be the one I know about. Worth looking at.

[@Covering My A$$] Thanks for your great advice. I do have Shadow Defender and was considering using it for precisely the reasons you’ve alluded to. :)

I don’t know exactly what he is referring to, i only have one cascading context menu entry for FileMenu Tools, probably how it was supposed to be and i have lots of context menu entries from other programs that do not interfere with each other, there shouldn’t be any separate entry out of line, except those you may specify on your own in the configuration afterwards. There is a option called “Show all the commands in submenu“, since i already had a previous version of it, i don’t know if it’s enabled by default but yes, if it’s disabled, it literally spams your context menu with default and existing entries, like a lot but you can enable and disable that option at any time in the configuration and you can also delete whatever standard/default entry you don’t like (like the icons for standard commands he talked about because they may be applied system-wide, thus programs using default Windows Explorer may see those icons exactly how FileMenu Tools applied them.

    Hello!

I’ve been using Filemenu Tools since the first time it was given away, I honestly love it.

Now that I’ve reinstalled Windows 10 though, I can’t seem to register it again!

How do I go about re-applying my key?
