Its not much use having a backup tool with only a 1 year licence.

If a backup program does not come with a lifetime license then it is absolutely worthless.
Therefore I will never use this offer here as it sucks with only a one year license offer.
Ashraf, either do it right or don’t do it at all.

    I agree.

“Security and backup tool” coming with 1 year license. Is it a joke ?

    Bonjour,

Peut être que la licence est obligatoire pour faire les sauvegardes mais pas pour restaurer ?
Avez-vous essayé au moins avant de râler ?

While I appreciate the opportunity to try out this software with the generous 1 year license (rather than just a 2 week trial or something), I wonder what happens after the 1 year license expires? Would my backed up data still be accessible if I purchased a license or would I have to start all over and not be able to retain my backups/settings?

That a backup software allows/provides merely a limited time usage, the vendor anticipates same shall be shoo-ins for sales. With backups measly tied to backup software that actually expires, no genuine choice to rescue/restore vital files is assured or at all available.

MiniTool has a free version of this software which supports most of its important capabilities, so presumably either this version reverts to that after a year or the free version can be used to restore existing backups after the year.

Decent software and with free version available when licence expires which offers all the main functionality what’s not to like. At least you can do a proper system backup with all necessary partitions unlike AOMEI’s and EaseUS’ system backup which do not. Macrium is still my go to backup software but I’ll also use this as an extra layer of protection!

Wait a sec. I’ll go one year in the future with my DeLorean and will tell ya !

Exactly. Always check the publisher’s website before complaining.

My guess is that “one-year license” just means you only get updates for one year, and you can use the program for ever.

But we always have this irritating confusion between “stops to work after one year”, “still works after one year, but you’re not permitted to use it”, and “works for ever, but you only get one year’s worth of updates”.

Actually, my above comment was a reply to bill.

    O

I agree and was overly and actually unfairly skeptical with my comment. Having gladly stated same, it would be good for the vendor to monitor the comments on this promotional site and engage. Even the free version is decent; I know as I’ve used it as an extra layer of protection many times over the past six months or so.

1 year license means you can free upgrade the program to the latest version within one year registered with the license. After one year, if you want to upgrade, you need to purchase. However, you can use the version forever as long as you have the program.
