Hi. Does it provides any batch import tool… like crawling through ebook folder? I can’t see such option.

Instructions state: ‘You can register MSD Collections by going to MAINTENANCE UNLOCK THE PROGRAM from within the main program window’.

This is greyed out and I can’t enter the information.

“Maintenance” at the very top in the menu bar (between “tools” and “windows:)becomes highlighted as soon as
you point to it. After clicking on Unlock Program a window opens just like noted. I inserted exactly what Ashraf said to
use and mine is now registered. Since it stated to insert a user name, I simply copied and pasted what Ashraf
posted “Courtesy of MSD Sof” including the # given. I guess the Courtesy of MSD Sof is the user name.

    Caros senhores,

No, it does not appear to have such a function.

Hi. I’m new to SoS. So apologize in advance, if I say / do something wrong on this forum.

I have Win-7 (64 bit) ; Admin ac. I installed ‘MSD Collections’ two days back. Everything went smoothly. On entering the license key (displayed on our website and received in the mail), even got a message saying that the program was registered successfully.

However, whenever I click on any button like Books, Music…, I keep getting an error message : “Access violation at address 00943867 in module ‘MSDCollections.exe’. Read of address 00000000”. Incidentally, I’d got this same error message earlier when I clicked ‘Accept’, to close the window intimating me about deleting sample records. As I’m no techie, I don’t know what this message means. ‘Googling’ it didn’t help either.

The first time I wrote to the developers, they suggested I re-install the program. So I did an uninstall, shutdown-restart, reinstall. Didn’t help. The second time I wrote to the developers, they suggested I install the program using the .exe on their site. Same problem.

Even downloading the .exe and installing the program with my internet security disabled (dicey, no doubt), didn’t help.

    Please advise.

You didn’t get a response but it is not because you did anything wrong.

You stated that the program has an error: “Access violation at address 00943867 in module ‘MSDCollections.exe’. Read of address 00000000”

This means that the software is attempting to access an area of memory that it should not have access to. Windows allocates different areas of memory to different programs, each with their own private area that other programs do not have access to. When another program attempts to access an area that does not belong to it, then Microsoft reports the error; it is a design flaw on the developer side, and that is an issue that the developer should take care of. Shame on them for not responding and admitting the issue is in their software.

Depending on how you use the software, you may not get an error. For example, a program may expect that a database has been set up by the user first, and therefore, it can access some area the operating system would have allocated for its use. If the developer does not first check to see if that memory location is available to its program, then it can fail. In this case, the program expects that the user first created a database, before clicking on some button, but the developer never tested to see what happens if a user clicks on a button without creating a database. You can see how errors can exist in software (poor design and testing).

Some other user may first create a database, then click on the same button, so they never see the error or know that it even exists. They may think the program is the greatest software since sliced bread, but that does not mean that the software does not need fixing.

Some companies expend more of an effort in testing before shipping a product. Those are the companies that care. In summary, you did not do anything wrong. Only the developer can solve this problem.
