Last time this Program was “up” here at SoS, I installed it, but …
I or the software “made a mess” and a SoS user recommended the FREE Everything, use it daily.
So Thanks to “that guy” for . . Everything ;)

I use Search Everything from VoidTools to find stuff by file name. For search by contents, I recommend UltraSearch from Jam Software. It would reliably find files that I knew I had *somewhere* on my many drive partitions, even when the search built into Windows 7 could not find them. Very flexible and as quick as I ever needed, without indexing. Both are free. “UltraSearch finds files and folders on local NTFS drives”. TreeSizeFree from Jam Software is also a very good to find which files and folders are taking up space on your hard drive. I have over a million files on my two internal drives, and these programs have saved time and prevented headaches!

As for Search in Contents from MsTech, the comment from JOHANNES has scared me away. I don’t need another autostart program since I don’t search for files all the time. Definitely don’t like the idea of giving up personal information AND access to all my files to a program that is always listening. Am I being overly cautious?

When trying to run the program 1.8.6.173 giveaway.exe
I did not get very far

A warning notice is generated suggesting that:

“A required privilege is not held by the client”

I have not gone far with this installation let
alone providing / adding the licence key
any ideas how I can get round this problem?

I also use Everything and Ultra, both free. I don’t see the need for another program.

What languages does the program search?

The language of the program and the languages supported by the program should be mentioned in the technical specifications of each program on the presentation page

To fix your problem try to apply some of the following tips:

    Method #1
Run the setup as an administrator

    Method #2
Run cmd in admin mode and type sfc/scannow, click the Enter key

    Method #3
Disable temporarily your antivirus, firewall or other security programs.

If none of these methods works, some geeks advise to use the following method, which I personally would use as a last resort:

Right-click the setup file and go to Properties. Click “Security” and here give full rights to the executable.

I have never used this “Security” method, so I cannot guide you here.

Let’s hope that some of the three methods (#1,#2,#3) work for you.
