I use text pdfs a lot on my websites, but some I can’t as I don’t want the data copied. If I was to use this programme I would like to know whether the resulting .pdfs would be searchable on line, and whether the content would be “seen” by Google and other search engines. Can anybody answer this for me? Thank you in advance.

[@JJ Trader] I myself also work a lot with pdf files and many times I wondered what happens once I post them on my site. I decided to test this to answer your question. After the simple installation and registering the product, I anti-copied a 14 page document by selecting the check marks for each page in the program and saved it to a different location other than where I keep the original on my computer to be sure I used the correct document on my site. I then put it on the web..yes I could copy anything from it. I decided to pull up the program again and recopy just in case I did something wrong. Which I did! After inserting the check marks in the boxes to the right of each page in this program, I noticed two little boxes below “prevent printing” and “prevent copying”. I did not check either of these the first time. I inserted a check mark into the “prevent copying” and ran the program again and put it up on my site. Lo and behold, nothing can now be copied. My stupidity into thinking just because I selected the pages above..doesn’t mean anything until you tell the program what you want it to do. It also has a box to check for password. Haven’t checked that out as yet. I think I am going to like this program. Thank you Ashraf for having this available today and thank you to the developers for allowing it to be given away.

[@JJ Trader] I forgot to add to my note that I did do a google search and did discover my previous posting that had been on my site prior to the anti-copy document posting could be discovered, but the current anti copy document is not listed as far as I can see. So in away, that should answer your question about a google search, I hope. I also prior to posting the anti-copy version, changed the name and I even searched for that named-document and it was not posted in google engine. I hope this also might help. Anyway, I do like this anti-copy and anti-printing features.

Downloaded the program smoothly and opened it to register. Pressed the upgrade to pro and was taken to a tutorial page with a video on how to use, that leads to an upgrade payment page. There was a split second when I first pressed the upgrade that showed the register box but kept going to the video page. Now there is a non functioning dashboard sitting on desktop and won’t let me do anything including shutting down. Somehow I opened another copy of the program and the same thing happened, now I have two anti copy dashboards that I can’t do anything with. It just keeps beeping to anything you click. Has anyone else encountered this? Should I give up on this software. It seems like I would like it if it worked.

I tried this tool and it works great on my Win7 X64 laptop and Win10 PC.

What’s your OS version? Or is there a false positive alert from the AntiVirus software?

    Totalement inefficace !
J’ai protégé un fichier de 4 pages et j’ai pu sans problème le convertir en fichier word avec coolmuster pdf converter pro (excellent logiciel par contre)

I tried an existing PDF file to make a bigger PDF file with no copy and print, but 64-bit SumatraPDF v3.1.2 was still able to print and copy texts in my decade old, updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 desktop PC. :(

    @Ant:

I have the same version of SumtraPDF (3.1.2), so I opened a file converted using the PDF Anti Copy Pro software offered here, and clearly the Printer icon in SumtraPDF is grayed out (cannot print). In the File menu, the small menu that has the Print option, shows “Print … (denied)”, so I am pretty sure you did not convert the file correctly. In addition to selecting which pages (or all page) to be “protected” you also have to check one or both of the boxes under the list of pages that state, “Prevent Printing” and also “Prevent Copy Function” before clicking the Start now button.

If you can print a file, you are probably opening the source file, not the output file created using PDF Anti Copy Pro.

There is no reason that the PDF Anti Copy Pro software could produce a PDF file that would work for some PDF readers and not others. If SumtraPDF could print and copy the content, then all PDF readers would be able to do the same. SumtraPDF has no control over the file it reads; once protected, it is protected from SumtraPDF or any other PDF reader from printing or copying. The source code for SumtraPDF is available online. Someone would have taken that source code and created a reader that could bypass “protected” PDF files, except it is not possible.

There are several PDF utilities that are made to convert, encrypt, decrypt, split, rotate, and several other items, but none of those are going to allow the protected content to be printed. For example, if you extract a page from a file that PDF Anti Copy Pro has “protected” then you will get a blank page, not something you can print.

Since the protected PDF is essentially an image for each page, if you have PDF OCR software, you can run it on a “protected” file to see if it can produce output. You could use the OCR software on a screen capture of the PDF, but at that point you are no longer using the protected file, but instead working with the screen capture data itself.

The only way that a protected PDF file could be printed is if the PDF Anti Copy Pro software failed. Something in the PDF file would have to trigger PDF Anti Copy Pro to NOT protect the file, but still produce an exact copy of the input. If you can produce a file that PDF Anti Copy Pro does not protect, post it somewhere online so that the issue can be duplicated. I am sure the developer would love to see it, and so would I. That is the only that would make me doubt this software cannot do what it claims in all cases.

    Addendum:
I forgot to mention for non-english users: earlier version had problems with foreign signs (as ä ö ü ß et.)
I have not tested, whether this still is the case in the current version?…

The page showing the PDF anti copy deal, seems to show the image for something else (bitlocker).

    Bonsoir,
