I’d like to suggest that these companies stop and think for a moment about all the potential users they lose because they refuse to offer a product that works without having to have an online connection. In this day and age there are still thousands of us who are unfortunately stuck in areas where there is no internet connection and I am one of them. The only time I can do anything is when I am at work and my time is limited unfortunately, and as well because it is nearly impossible to find anything that doesn’t require you to have an internet connection to “confirm” or to download a bigger program, or to get necessary files in order to run the bigger program that requires an internet connection. We used to do it not that long ago, so why? Why does it have to be this way? It’s nonsensical because instead of downloading one file, you’re downloading two and additionally drawing off of another server almost constantly whereas it used to be you downloaded the file and updated when you could. Ridiculous!

    1. The program is interesting and original
    2. After registering it, you need to download filters from the official site (https://www.picture-instruments.com/products/index.php?id=1)
    3. Then install them in the program (do not pay attention that they are in jpg-format)
    3. These filters can be made in another program from “Picture Instruments”. (Probably in the program “Color Cone”, and in the program “Look Converter” it is possible to convert).

“Basic Version: No Desktop Filter support and no 3D LUT export. Pro Version: Has both. This giveaway is of Basic version.”
If you mean that this Basic version MIGHT NOT WORK on my Acer laptop (which I use mostly as a dektop machine withe cable connection) then I will have to leave this offer for what it is…
Or am I mistaken in my underlying assumption?
Looking out for reviews and an answer to my question.
Thanks anyway for the load of other programs here that never gave me any problems,
    Patrick.
A 3 star rating based on program description only…

Not a very sophisticated program, a 20-year-old toy, actually, less sophisticated than PaintShop ( remember when … ).

It’s unable to address my archive of 5 megapixel files ( plus my walkabout camera and cell phone camera are also 5 megapixel ), as most filters say 4,000 dots across are required — seriously?

It only plays with JPGs, which a lossy no-no, unable to open raw files, and no print enhancement output, so this is not for gallery production.

No batch capability … what, am I supposed to scroll or whatever through all filters on each image?

Since only a few filters work, I guess it doesn’t matter.

No resizing on output, so I’m going to use other programs anyway.

Picasa is free, imports entire cards and directory structures, batches adjustments, batches exports, batches resizing, batches gallery-quality printing to your preferred crop and size, AND batch uploads to the web ( and a gazillion more features and benefits ).

What is Picture Instruments VERY LIMITED Filters for, again?
