[@sky1] No, no — I know you weren’t blaming me. I was just explaining :-)

[@bioxx] Email their support — we might have crashed their database.

Requiring a physical address is somewhat out of line and then I got this from them via email:

Registration Key: The connection to the database failed.. Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Too many connections in /home/httpd/www.digidna.net/html/digidna/includes/classes/sql/dbConnection.MySQL.class.inc.php on line 49 Warning: mysql_select_db(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/httpd/www.digidna.net/html/digidna/includes/classes/sql/dbConnection.MySQL.class.inc.php on line 50

[@Ashraf] Asraf; First of all, I wasn’t blaming you for anything, anyhow, we always appreciate what you do here. Secondly, I should have said “…could be scam”, instead of “…is scam”, since I could not proceed to the next page at all to see what was being asked more. IF, they would ask for my credit card (or PayPal) details as well, then I would call it a scam-ATTEMPT, since you will never know if they will charge something to the card, now or later. Otherwise, I did not doubt that they would be giving something after filling out all those infos. This is all I meant. Take care.

If you don’t want to give out your address, just put in a fake address and such in.

Its cool .. but like I said/explained to Carl S .. ALLLLLLLLL ‘Apple Products’ are incredibly RESTRICTIVE!, so ….. Symbian Phones from back in the Day, Android Phones as well from more of late, not one/either of them are as NUTS with PC to Phone/Phone to PC Data Transfer as the iOS Platform definately appears to be!!, so ….. pain in the a$$ if you ask me? (cos’ I end up with same ‘Data Transfer Issues’ with my own iPhone as you too my man! .. on my Android Phone however, I get very little issues whatsoever!).

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhh well? lol.

[@Carl S] Thanks for the feedback!

[@sky1] Do I like that they are asking for so many personal details? No. However, calling it a scam is going a bit too far. A scam would be asking for your info and then not giving you the freebies, which is not what is happening here. This is how the developer opted to do it and unfortunately we cannot do anything about it because this is an external promo and not a SoS promo.

I DEFINATELY HEAR THAT for real!, its a shame yes? .. but I fully agree with your ‘All’ still …..

Hopefully an ‘Amicable Solution’ will SOON be upon us ALLLLL SOON, huh? lol. :-)

[@Carl S] Its NOT that Windows XP (or ANY ‘Version’ of Windows for that matter?) WOULDN’T ‘Copy Stuffs’ To & From iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc? .. its simply to do with the fact that it COULDN’T! .. the ‘Apple Company’ (since its very inception in the EARLY 80′s!) has been notoriously infamous in its ‘PRIORITY Software’ Status! .. choosing to have/keep/guard its MacOS Operating System as ‘CLOSED’ (‘EXCLUSIVE’), UNLIKE that of the likes of Microsoft (who ALSO since its very inception in the EARLY 80′s) chose to notoriously have/make its DOS & Windows Platform Operating System as ‘OPEN’ (as in OTHER ‘Developers’ could more EASILY Write Software Apps for it, etc?) …..

And ‘To-Date’, some 30+ Years later (with Windows, & MacOS + iOS), BOTH Microsoft & Apple ‘Operating Systems’ have NOT CHANGED their ‘Priority/lack of Priority’ Statuses, yes?, so …..

I hope this answers your question? lol. :-)

This is scam. Sorry Ashraf, but on their “giveaway?” page, they force you to go through a regular mail order procedure, asking for full name, full address (java prohibits advancement unless all fields are filled) and since I would not give all that just to get a freebie I would not use very often (I am an Android guy with just one old iPhone I hardly ever use), I don’t know if on the next page, they will also ask for my credit card details or not!? I do not feel that this company can be trusted, no matter how good or bad their product is, which I could thus not test. There are sites which just give a download link on the first page without asking for any details (with the license code already included in the zip file) and I do like your site and what you do for us here, but this hurdle just too much. Thanks but I will sit this out. Shame on them.

I tried several of these iPhone utilities when I first got my iPhone. This is the one I settled on and ended up paying for. It really helped me transfer larger videos off my iPhone when Windows XP simply wouldn’t transfer files to and from the device.
