This looks like it could be a potentially useful utility, until you go here to compare versions and see that the Pro version offered here should really be called DiskPulse SE or DiskPulse Lite. That’s mainly because without the SQL database and the functions it adds the usefulness of this product is really reduced.

Incidentally for products like this that hook into your system, one of the most useful things that SoS could do is to tell us what we need to know about it before we experiment:
– What does it alter on your system? Does it install auto-start components or services? Does it modify parts of your system like browser add-ons, codecs, existing file type assignments, driver chains?
– Can it be removed cleanly by uninstall?
– If not, what gets left behind, and what can you do about cleaning that up?

I’m always reluctant to experiment without knowing this, and I’m sure others feel the same.

Providing this information would allow SoS to stand out from other software promotion services that offer the same software. Sure it would take a bit of extra work, but not that much:
– Ask the software vendor, and report what they say, even if that’s nothing or superficial. The fact is that they should be providing this information, and sales channels like SoS asking the right questions would encourage them to do so.
– Run an install monitor and compare the system before installation, after installation, and after uninstall. Look for the usual suspects and report. Doesn’t have to go into full detail.
