For “Company” put in your name, or “My Company”, or “My Black Dog” or–just about anything.
In the “Work Phone” slot use your home phone, your cell phone or 10 random digits.
In “Email” put in your real e-mail so they can get the SW to you.
NOW–read the rest of the offer carefully, you are giving them permission to email or call you at any time so they can try to sell you more “cool apps”
That’s why it says “By downloading this free guide, you agree to receive regular updates on the latest cool apps, product reviews, and giveaways from MakeUseOf.” Isn’t that just too sweet of them?
Or you can go to Amazon and download similar guides for 99 cents and avoid added robocalls. Or you can go to one of the several free websites that provide similar help for, yep, free, with no further hassle. Or you can get similar advice from AARP for whatever their annual fees are,—there are many places to get GOOD free advice without selling your soul (and sole) for free.
