I am not convinced this product is useful. Today’s teens, and employees, use VPNs like the free one embedded in the Opera browser, in WhatsApp, or several IoS tools. The child’s (or employee’s( web activities essential disappear from blocking tools like this one, because the network monitor cannot see the target web site or content. Unless I radically lock down all browsers and tools on my teen’s/employee’s computer, I have not had success with these types of tools. This is also the problem I experienced with the Disney Circle parental protection tools at home. As soon as my kid asked other friends for assistance, and discovered Opera browser, ALL his activity disappeared from the monitor, logging, and constraints. Not necessarily the fault of this HT System software, but it appears to be a fundamental limitation in today’s technologies. e.g., on the network, a VPN transaction may not look any different than an https secure payment transaction. Since Google and others are pressing for more and more universal use https: for all web work, the technical challenges will keep growing. I am certainly open to others’ opinions and suggestions.
