I already have Softmaker 2016, and it included PlanMaker, TextMaker, PresentationMaker and BasicMaker.
Does the giveaway on offer now include BasicMaker, and is it 2016 or 2018?
If it doesn’t include BasicMaker, will BasicMaker 2016 work with PlanMaker 2018 and TextMaker 2018?
I’m trying to avoid doing an upgrade that would essentially make BasicMaker useless.
If you haven’t tried it yet, BasicMaker is a reasonable programming environment modeled after Visual Basic found in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio, Access and maybe other MS products. BasicMaker (unlike VBA in MS Office) cannot be called from PlanMaker or TextMaker, so you can’t write your own functions, or have buttons in toolbars or forms that run your own program to modify the cells or text in your document. But, it CAN be set to call PlanMaker/TextMaker and work with documents inside those programs — still very powerful. And unlike Libre Office, the documentation is thorough and easy to work with — it’s very hard in Libre Office to even find out what’s possible, or how to do task like changing a column width, and when you do, the names are long & confusing. BasicMaker can also be used on its own, and can access files and folders on your hard drive and call external programs.
