[ @Ashraf] the SOS page for this product has the wrong link for the vendor, it should be:

[ https ://webcatalog. app/ ]

The current version there is v25.8.0. Windows 7 and later, 64-bit from the website above ( the SOS-distributed version is v25.5.2 ).

[@Colin] YOU tell US after exploring this and sharing.

I note that Google Chrome is a memory hog and too many tabs open eventually locks up, so when I am doing research and have 5, 10, 20, or more tabs for one project, and maybe 3 Chrome windows open with 20+ tabs each, I just commit suicide to try and then also open my email, or even open SOS on top of all that, so having my email and SOS as separate apps makes sense.

On the one hand, we’ve ALL been trying to manage too many tabs in browsers, Tab Mix Plus for Firefox is no longer functioning, tab-grouping in Chrome was a baad design bust from the start, so I open Chrome, Firefox, AND Opera, and then Internet Explorer when I only need one download, and then close it, NONE of the big vendors is addressing our using the web as an extended library search and reference resource – EXTENDED.

On the other hand, Quang Lam, the programmer of Web Catalog Plus, suggests offloading tabs to separate “apps”.

– Access to apps in their rated catalog of ~600 websites
– Create custom apps from any websites
– Add Unlimited workspaces
– Block ads & trackers
– Attach to menu bar or taskbar
– Inject CSS/JS code
– Choose browser engine

What say we try it out and report back in – that’s what we’re here for.

Thanks for exploring this and sharing.
