I still use the last version of truecrypt before they shut down the project under pressure to build in a backdoor. Finding software which is completely reliable so that you don’t permanently lose all of your most important data and completely secure so it can only be decrypted with the key and has no backdoor is a serious challenge. Truecrypt has mostly been third-party vetted and still works on Win 11. Who knows how much longer or if it has any flaws.
Why would I trust any of the numerous commercial packages?
