I used to be able to get the book downloads with just my SOS account and email address. Then there was this form, with parts of it dropping down to other fields if you answered in certain ways. Then my email was not accepted as a “work email” address. This is data mining at its worst. I have stopped reading from these “free” sources and gone to other free download sites for books (just google free e-book downloads). I would have liked this offer, but can’t (office policy) and won’t (personal choice) give all my employers information to someone providing what is normally free elsewhere. Love SOS. Hate the change from this vendor. I would like to make up junk info, but that’s against our policy too (plus, I couldn’t remember the fake answers from one time to the next.) I downloaded over 20 books about Python programming from free sites the last time I tried to get an offering of a book (Python programming book) here and couldn’t because of the extensive business information needed. Thought I’d try again today hoping this was a different vendor. No such luck.
