What is SelectTv? It seems to be an “aggregater”. “Streaming Observer” says, “Perhaps the best part of SelectTV comes down to ease of use. Thanks to the organization offered by SelectTV, content is easy to find. Content filters include genre, rating, year, network, recently added, and popularity. You can also choose between finding only free movies and shows or adding in premium services like Hulu, Sling TV, and Netflix.” So you still have to pay if you want your pay service, and it’s part of the SelectTv business model. So what do you really get for your money? It looks like organization is the prime value. Distilling out the core of “Streaming Observer’s” article, SelectTv quotes SelectTv claims as including, “over 300,000 TV shows, 200,000 movies, and 5,000 live channels that offer sporting events and other television.” Then there’s the claimed ” viral videos, pay-per-view, games, and video-on-demand options” and 50,000 radio stations by the way!
To watch on your TV, there is only the option of hooking your computer up as the receiver and playing on your TV some other way (HDMI cable or some other unrelated hardware you already have or have to buy) or Chromecast. One last quote from “Streaming”, “you’re paying for convenience. They are just bringing together all of the content that’s available on the Internet. It’s all things that you can find on your own.” The comments left at the end of the article quoted lament the lack of a trial or even a low cost trial period. Maybe this offer might entice some to “try” for 3 years? Still, $49 is a steep price if you don’t know if you will use the “internet organizer” that “Select” offers to the extent of its price.

One comment on “Reddit” states, “$3/month sounds worth it though. I may try it lol. It says you can have multiple loggins, so u could easily share it with friends.” This is an interesting possible added value. A review is available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPj6DubD10k. A YouTube search reveals several other reviews that also say this service is usually $2.99 per month (this offer is about $1.40 per month if you prepay for 3 years). Everyone I can find says this service is only an aggregater with adds, but several like the organization and low price. Not me, but I have friends I think would really like this update of the old “Rabbit TV” service (main difference is the ability to manage other pay services through SelectTV).
