A cursory investigation resulted in a pretty good translation from English to Latvian. Impressive. This will become a major arrow in the software quiver.

The downloaded installer opens a “Connect” app which looks like it is supposed to log in to my Ashampoo account, but the Connect app returns an error which I am unable to resolve. I already have an Ashampoo account. Previous software installers have opened a browser window to log in. What is wrong?

I already have the stock installed (by special offer), but it requires updating at startup, but then the license key will be lost, how can I launch without updating?

At start of installation: “Oops. Something went wrong”, blank screen, freezes up.

Type the name of the program in the app search!
then install it. Didn’t you read the gist?
Everything is fine with me, the language files have to be installed separately.

I’ve installed app, searched LocaLingo, but instead of 0%, the offer is NOT FREE.

How big is this install after all is said and done?
It certainly can’t be the 776KB as claimed.

    NEED TO KNOW!
If you have the “Ashampoo Connect” app installed, you need to uninstall it.
There is a new “Ashampoo App” that has replaced it. The old “Connect” app does not work anymore and interferes with the installation.
Once I removed the old app, the LocaLingo installer installed the new App, I was able to log in to my Ashampoo account, and the installation proceeded flawlessly.

    More Need To Know:
The 776 KB installer does not contain the program. It opens the Ashampoo App, and you need to log in to your Ashampoo account from there. Once you are logged in, the LocaLingo program appears, and it is free at that point. You install LocaLingo from there.
I have not yet found the LocaLingo EXE. It is not in the usual places, and the desktop icon points to a web address of some sort, with an unusual format.
I found some support files in C:\ProgramData\Ashampoo LocaLingo\ArgosTranslate
I installed 29 language models and they required ~ 3GB total disk space.
(I am having trouble posting to this discussion, I keep getting error messages.)

    The executable is here:
    C:\Program Files\Ashampoo\Ashampoo App\products\LocaLingo\LocaLingoLocalService.exe
The file image is about 176 MB and the total of folder/sub contents is slightly over 200 MB.
The Ashampoo file structure has changed since they started using “Ashampoo App”.
