Reviews for UnHackMe 14
False positives only. And so many that it found it annoying. The software is not aware of current medium-common programs. Maybe it’s only for people who have been hacked already. The other thing is that I expected a full version, and then if I like the program I pay after the first year. But it’s basically upselling from the time you open the program for the first time.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to test this trial. Without updates, it’s pretty much useless to me as I couldn’t even really test before I buy bc I am not currently hacked and … false positive are not enough to buy.
i find it odd that not one review on here even knew or mentioned that unhackme has a network shield on it. it casts some doubt about how closely they actually looked at this program! i like the fact that it can block crypto miners. who else does that?
i have a lifetime membership with it and i only use it for a demand scanner. it is quite good at cleaning adware problems, and in my tests, detected the same stuff as adwcleaner, which, is pretty good.
the scan results are laid out in an unintuitive way, but they are very indepth. this is not for pin pointing malware, but to give the user the information to isolate it himself. it uses virustotal to flag malware, but caution should be used seeing as virustotal has frequent false positives. a yellow flag means it is unknown, not that it is malware. many reviews here don’t seem to understand that. a red flag is malware (according to virustotal).
and yes, it detects rootkits. it takes a pic of your settings, boot record, etc, and compares it to detect if bootkit malware has infected you. you can also play with the settings to find hidden trojans. i am unsure of how effective it is at rootkits and would love to see testing on this. but it’s methodology seems good. i don’t know if it could clean them, but it would likely find them.
one thing i liked, is it found a browser extention that i had erased, but was still partially there or something. it allowed me to erase that thing.
this program is light. you won’t notice it on your system.
summary: not to be relied on for malware protection, but it likely helps as a complimentary AV and is light enough that it doesn’t hurt your resources. it is very good to tell you if something has changed in your system (kinda like winpatrol, but through the scans). and it should flag you on rootkit activity, which many AV miss.
Has to be one of the most annoying pieces of software out their….I removed it after just 6 hours __of it going on the hunt and bringing up some of my most valued software asking if I wanted to remove them…So many FALSE POSITIVES how retarded can software be!…Gone off my machine so fast…

I only kept it on for less than an hour. Way too many false positives. Made it almost impossible to detect the real threats.
Just get Norton and WiseCare 365 and you won’t need anything else. This software has the very same features, but more powerful, than UnHackMe. But, if it is FREE you want, then get it, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

No way! I would not even want Norton or Wisecare if THEY were free.
I recommend this program to anyone, easy to use, fast and very effective protection.
I don’t want Unhackme to always start on every boot.
Most software has an option that addresses this issue but I cannot find such a menu option.
It’s easy enough to cancel but why should I have to do this every time?
Also, it found an issue but it’s unclear what I should do about it.

Hi Dan, I agree, After a few hours on my machine it brought up some of my most valued programs even questioned if my AVIRA anti-virus was malware…Most annoying piece of software to come along in a long time…I removed as fast as i could…
Just go into Options, and then select the “Boot-Time Scan” tab, and then make sure that the “Active” and “Scan at Windows startup” boxes are unchecked.
On windows 10 go to task manager and click on “Startup” tab if you have older windows press button WIN+R, type msconfig and go to the “startup” tab.
Learn how to use Windows. In Windows, you can decide what starts up at boot. Simple as that…
it does. in options there is a clear setting that says “run unhackme monitor at windows startup”. plus, you can simply turn off monitoring and network shield.
Unhackme has been scanning for viruses for hours – there should be a status bar showing how much longer it has to go.
A good secondary antivirus software To have around.

Malwarebytes Is the best primary software to have.
This is a good program in your arsenal of on-demand antimalware defences. I personally deactivate the option to start up with Windows and only use it when I notice strange behaviour of my browser such as search redirects, page redirects, pages that will seem unresponsive and so on. It has successfully found and neutralised the culprit a couple of times while my main antivirus had not flagged up something strange. Of course along with malware, it identifies a lot of legitimate and not malware programs or browser add-ons and one therefore must not accept the suggestions of the program but select what to remove thoughtfully and after a little bit of research. And this ability to control exactly what the program does makes it an overall very useful program.
Thanks to the programmer, able, Always, succeed and win.
also proud that this is the victory of your nation…,Merry Christmas,
The support I found to be excellent with a very fast response time.
Very nice indeed.
I have not installed any antiviral on the computer,
I’m just pleased with this application,UnHackMe 9.60.
Many of my computer problems have been fixed with this powerful software,
Because the computer always turns off using it,
Thankfully, this powerful software fixes you a lot,
Thank you.have nice day.

The rabbit is always fluffiest before the carrot. Please to be installing viral on computter. Pleasingly pleassant, shuuuper shwang. Never succeed but frequently not winning, it might be a negative that the computer always turns off using it. CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING program has all sizzle whilst no steaking
The notion of an Anti-Rootkit which is a Google Redirecting Fixer is… strange. I really don’t think that it takes a rootkit to redirect searches, or that redirecting searches is the main effect of most rootkits.
As for being an Anti-Bot… What does that mean ? That it would protect you against bots ? That would mean protecting a web site against DDOS attacks, but it’s an entirely different kettle of fish. Or, it might mean protecting your computer against being turned into a bot and attacking others, but there’s no specific protection against that as far as I know. This is done through protecting against malware generally.
Bare-armed “Dmitry” seems ready to pounce against malware with a few karate moves. I think fighting malware takes a little more than this sort of putinesque bravado, but of course I could be mistaken.

I believe I recall the program is Ukrainian rather than Russian.
imho, the description indicates that its G-redirect was added on to the RK function to expand capability… that would seem to be 2-for the price of-1.
False positives would be a drudge for the average user.
I totally agree.
Rootkits do more insidious things than redirect our searches.
And to avoid it, no programs are needed: just activate the enhanced protection that comes with some browsers.
On the other hand, more than half of internet traffic is made up of bots, including Google, Bing, etc.
What can be done is to mitigate distributed denial of service attacks against servers. But I doubt very much that this program will serve for that.
I tried UnHackMe and I personally felt that it didn’t add much to the security of my device.
PC users have to always face ever-increasing threats and are under constant risk of unwanted access to their personal data and information. Data can be stolen from users by using variety of malware, including Trojans, and rootkits. That is why every PC users need anti-virus and anti-malware tools to protect their personal data and information from online theives.
UnHackMe is a unique and powerful tool that allows you to remove Google Search redirects, rootkits, trojans, backdoors, viruses, worms, adware, spyware, keyloggers, unwanted programs from your PC. It identify and protect your computer against unwanted access to your personal data through ‘rootkits.’
Overview
The download size is small (~18 MB) and the installation process is simple and straightforward. After running it for the first time, you can easily run a scan and start removing junk and malware from your PC completely. You just have to push the ‘Check Me Now!’ button, and select your desired scan type from the pop-up window. There are 4 options in the menu to perform online scan, anti-malware scan, scan in safe mode, and scan before windows starts. After scanning you can decide what to do with each of the identified problems. It lets you delete the file, rate it as ‘false positive’ or ask for additional assistance.
Pros
Easy-to-use & intuitive UI
The UI of this tool is user-friendly and arranged in such a way that all the options are features are easily accessible. The simple layout makes the tool easy to understand and use by all kinds of users even novices. There are only three tabs on top one for checking and scanning, the other one contains settings and options, and the last one contains the logs. There is also a ‘Useful Tools’ tab that lets you download some free useful tools.
Feature-rich tool
Along-with scanning and providing protection against malware, rootkits and other unwated programs, UnHackMe contains a ‘Reanimator’ feature which can perform a full spyware check on your PC.
This tool also lets you Clean, backup and protect your PC. The clean feature is great to ensure complete removal of virus from the PC. You can also backup system files, so they can be restored later if something goes wrong or if their is a virus attack. The buil-in restore manager allows you to easily restore the system files backup when needed.
Moreover, you can activate real-time protection which tackles malware related stuff even before the have any impact on your PC. You can also schedule regular malware scans according to your preference.
Protection against rootkits
Most of the antivirus tools do not have a rootkit scanner to scan for rootkits, and to un root and remove them from your PC. Rootkits allow viruses and malware to ‘hide in plain sight’ by disguising as necessary files that your antivirus software will overlook. Rootkits are activated before your operating system even boots up, they are very difficult to detect and therefore provide a powerful way for attackers to access and use the targeted computer without the owner’s notice. Unlike other tools, UnHackMe has a dedicated rootkit scanner and ensure your PC is safe by double-checking, identifying and removing all types of malware.
Cons
Crashed PC while scanning
It crashed my PC a couple of times while trying to fix the detected issues. I tried to run the anti-malware scan, first time it detected a few files that it labeled as ‘Probably Malicious’. In the next few scans it did not detect anything at all.
Complex Advanced features GUI
The GUI of advanced features is complex and difficult to understand for even people who are good with computers let alone the novices. It seems like the basic mode and the advanced mode are two separate applications. Icons, layout, and interfaces are all different and complex on the advanced mode.
Picks up false positives
Users have to careful while running scans, as it picks up false positives very often. This makes it very difficult for novices to figure out what is good and what is bad for their system, and they may end up cleaning and deleting stuff that can cause there system to become unstable.
Conclusion
UnHackMe is a lightweight tool designed to help you prevent rootkits from harming your computer. It is a perfect tool for people looking to troubleshoot their infected PCs. I would have definitely given it a 4-star rating if only it did not crash my PC this many times.

Malik wrote “… It crashed my PC a couple of times … Complex Advanced features GUI … is complex and difficult to understand for even people who are good with computers let alone the novices … it picks up false positives very often …”
… and all of that completely contradicts the rest of the attempted positive or hopeful review, contradictions throughout, especially
“… UnHackMe is a unique and powerful tool …” versus “… lightweight tool …”
and my favorite
“… I would have definitely given it a 4-star rating … if only it did not crash my PC this many times …”.
What?
Like saying, “… I’d give the restaurant a 4-star rating, except I died from food poisoning, along with everyone else who ate there ..” ? ! ?
Are you trying to say “… the programmer wants a 4-star rating ( they all do ), but they are not capable of accomplishing anything worthy of a 4-star rating …” ?
If that’s what you are really saying, essentially, why all the “… Easy-to-use & intuitive UI … Feature-rich tool … UnHackMe has a dedicated rootkit scanner and ensure your PC is safe by double-checking, identifying and removing all types of malware …”, what all the praises for something you actually cannot use successfully, cannot use without damage, cannot use without wasting your time?
.
This is an interesting program, but it didn’t tell me anything new that other security programs haven’t already told me. It red-flagged Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) and YouTube Downloader HD. Both of these free programs have ads in them, which I already knew and have been using for years. It yellow-flagged as “suspicious” a lot of safe programs that I also have been using for years. Epic Privacy Browser also got yellow-flagged. Too often, security programs act like over-protective parents who lock their kid in the house because if they go outside, they might get hurt. This is one of them. Nevertheless I’m going to keep it more so as an information tool, than as a “must take action” software. Thanks for offering it.

This has been a very useful review. Thank you.
Thanks for the information.
This might work better if it were an portable app. because every time i have installed it on my PC it has corrupted my OS and my installed apps. and did nothing but give false positives while ignoring the real threats; leaving me no choice but to refresh my PC because the problems continued after i uninstall it. Use at your own risk!

Thanks for taking the time to comment Mike.
Has anyone else had the same experience as Mike?
If you have, please let us know.
I was planning to give it a go, but after reading Mike’s comment I’m not willing to risk it.
I have after just a few hours it brought up my most trusted programs to be removed if I hit the wrong button…What piece of crap…it goes hunting and even brought up my AVIRA antivirus …I removed as fast as I could
it does have a portable version. go to their site and download it if that’s what you want.
Thank you for saving my neck. I don’t want to have to restore from my disk image, reading your very last sentence, which is very concerning.
Rootkit has been and will always be a great threat to computers. They create backdoors that give hackers control over your machine. The problem is your average antivirus program won’t detect and un root rootkits unless it has a dedicated rootkit scanner. UnHackMe seeks to fill in the gap. In my opinion, UnHackMe does a great job.
Pros
Simple straightforward interface
The UnHackMe interface is all about searching for and cleaning malware. The user interface is simple and straightforward making it an excellent tool to both beginners and armatures. I especially grew fond of the simple ‘check’ tab that has a quick scan option, all your tools and remote assistance.
On-boot monitoring
Most of the rootkit goes into the boot sector. This is why it is hard to find it without running software that access the boot sector or monitors the boot process. UnHackMe will not only scan the boot sector but also monitor the boot sequence in search for malicious rootkit like implementations.
Detecting hidden processes
I found this feature especially efficient and useful. Comparing my windows task manager with the UnHackMe hidden process logs revealed a ton of hidden process that go unnoticed. This means that this rootkit scanner will identify most of the hidden rootkit no matter what.
Comes with a regular malware scanner
UnHackMe isn’t just all about rootkit. It will also check for regular malware and rootkit making it a comprehensive defense against computer threats.
Cons
Remote assistance
This feature claims to take a scan report and forward it to the UnHackMe team for processing and analysis. I have no idea how it works since this version kept on insisting that I get the premium version of the app to continue. I personally don’t like ‘remote assistance’ from people I don’t know or trust. I’ll actively keep off this feature.
Regular false alarms
UnHackMe labelled a couple of my regular installation files as malware. This is quite misleading to people who don’t understand their system. The good thing is it doesn’t auto clean and it will always create a restore point just in case things go wrong once you hit the clean button.
Verdict
UnHackMe is a super light rootkit and malware scanner that will come in handy to anyone who doesn’t want to run something heavy to get the job done. I is sufficient, but could do better with a couple of improvements to reduce on the false positives and increase scan speeds.

I am aware that we are being used to test and evaluated software so i have used this on several occasions and it did little more then give a lot of false positives on my installed antivirus and other Apps. while ignoring the real problems. it also slowed down or prevented some of my apps from starting It even flagged key parts of my OS as malware and prevented them from working. i uninstall the software but the damage was done so i ended up having to refresh my PC. each time i tried it. I’m happy it works for u, and as i said before i understand we are actually being used as beta tester but!!!! Unless it’s been greatly improved i will stay completely away for this software it just doesn’t play well with my apps and win. 8.1 OS
unhackme is very good anti malware anti spyware software. it removed all Google Search redirects, rootkits, trojans, backdoors, viruses, worms, adware, spyware, keyloggers, unwanted programs. i am very much liked this software.
