Thanks you Mr Ashraf for your honest and clear answer.
For me, currently, your website is the best documented and the well managed.
Again thanks you, to have understood that my comment was not a personal attack.

Thanks for this offering. I found OCR function (of scanned document) and conversion (of a pdf that had originated from text) to be of high quality; as good or better than any converter I have used. Hopefully lifetime updates means a long time with this software.

[@Nobug] Because when I first started SoS, I wasn’t aware some developers said “free lifetime updates” but meant “free minor updates only”. However, I wised up and started asking developed specifically if they offered a) free minor updates only or b) free lifetime major/minor updates/upgrades. If here we say “free lifetime updates, that means the developer told us “free lifetime major/minor updates/upgrades”. If here we say “free minor updates only”, that means the developer told us “free minor updates only”.

I’m simply passing on what Wondershare told me. It is up to you to believe them or not.

[@Hywel Jenkins] Did you purchase it?

The professional term “free lifetime upgrades” informs that the latest major and minor updates are free. Why use the term “free lifetime updates” for the same definition?

    Extract from Wondershare sales FAQs
    “What is your Upgrade Policy?
    Last Revised: 2013-12-06 11:30:58
We provide free life-time updates for most of our products for our registered customers.
If the update is not free, we will send newsletters to our registered customers. In this case, our registered customer can enjoy the major upgrade by paying a small upgrade fee.”

Obviously, I am well aware that if, for example, Microsoft offered a “free lifetime upgrades” for “Windows”, the profitability of its new developments would be impossible.

[@Nobug] I specifically ask developers if they are offering free minor updates or free lifetime minor/major updates/upgrades. If on SoS we say “free lifetime updates” that means the developer told us they are offering free lifetime minor/major updates/upgrades. I hope that helps.

    [@Gde] Welcome!

[@Harry] Glad you got it figured out.

“Lifetimes updates” is not ‘Lifetime ugrades”.
In practice, the update offer stop when a major upgrade is realised. The actual duration for a “Lifetime updates” is generally less than one year. And generally, a promotional offer is proposed just before an upgrade. The principle of sales period is to empty stocks. The number of offers with “Lifetimes updates” is low. An other commercial trick is to add a new function, then to change the name of the product, which becomes a new product to sell. In practice, the actual duration for a “Lifetime upgrades” is generally about few years.

I was skeptical of this one so I tried the freebie first. Not bad at all. For my tests the OCR actually worked!
Only $16 to get lifetime updates? Why not? It should only get better, right? ;)
I’m not a fan of the Office 2013 style interface (I just don’t see why the menus need to be yelling at me), but that’s not a deal-breaker. However, I don’t think I would pay $80 for it ($40 tops), there are just too many choices for dealing with pdf files, not that this one’s a bad choice.
Given all of it’s features, at $16 it’s an Amazing Deal! Thanks Wondershare and SoS!

How in blazes does one remove the Registration Backup Service from the order? The page I see does not seem to allow for that option.

    Purchase without problem.
Just, do not forget to remove the purchase option: “Registration Backup Service”, which is pre-activated.
This additional cost of $ 5.95 is thus avoid.
Who wish to find and rénstaller an old version in case of problems!
Print the activation key is an action more reassuring.

[@Chong] What do you mean the link won’t let you purchase the product? What issue are you having?

I am having problems with the Wondershare PDF editor + OCR Plugin ($15.99). The link would not allow me to purchase the product. On contacting them (wondershare) they gave me another link but with a higher price ($24.95) without the OCR (however, I was told that they will send that plugin to me for free). Can you please resolve this discrepancy?
