Avast refuse l’installation
Peter BlaiseGuest.
There are no options to cause WORDS to appear that describe any tools in this program, so I have absolutely no idea what it can do, or why I would use it.I presume it is a programmer’s personal tool that they published without much marketing feedback.
I went to the web page and read what they say about it.
I opened the program and looked at it.
I got very afraid to click on anything because there are no descriptions warning what will happen if I click on anything.
I cannot imagine what I would use this program for.
.Peter BlaiseGuest.
Okay, deeper exploration on what this promises:Move to Recycle Bin,
Permanently Delete,
Copy / Move to Other Place,
Rename,
Output Information
Change Properties.Uh huh.
But BEFORE this program, this is how I do things in any Windows File Explorer screen on any computer:
Move to Recycle Bin = point to something / highlight something, and tap the [ Delete ] key … simple.
Permanently Delete = point to something / highlight something, and taps the [ Shift ][ Delete ] keys … simple.
Copy / Move to Other Place = point to something / highlight something, [ Right-Click and hold ], drag and drop, [ unclick ], select [ Copy ] or [ Move ] … simple.
Rename = point to something / highlight something, tap [ F2 ] key, type new name, then [ Enter ] when done … simple. ( I use free [ 1-4-All Rename ] and free [ Advanced Renamer ] for more sophisticated renaming of groups of files and directories. )
Change Properties = okay, I use free [ Attribute Changer ] = point to something / highlight something, [ right-click ], select attribute and date changes.
Output Information = [ Right-click ], [ Command Prompt here ], type [ dir > dir.txt ], [ X ] ( Exit ).
__________Oh — BATCH.
This program allows us to collect files and directories from various places, temporarily group their names in a holding panel, and then perform one or more tasks on them all at once,
… whereas Windows tends to only allow such actions on one location at a time, plus maybe on files and directories under that one location … that is, Windows File Explorer in-built actions work on ONE file, ONE directory, or ONE directory tree at a time … with enough exceptions to boggle easy teaching,
… versus TriSunSoft WinExt Batch Operator allowing us to gather files and directories from a variety of locations and act on them altogether at once.
Cool.
Too bad it’s not an add-on for Windows File Explorer instead of a separate program … because the action-tools it offers are -w-a-y- less sophisticated than other action-tools that are add-ons for Windows File Explorer.
It would be nice to use the manual BATCHing capability of this program with the much more sophisticated action-tools from others that Delete, Copy, Move, Rename, Output Information, and Change Properties, and more ( free [ XCopy ], free [ RoboCopy ], free [ XXCopy ], free [ TeraCopy ] allow automating the copy actions of ‘refreshing” and ‘synchronizing’, for example ).
Also, it would be nice of we could AUTOMATE batch actions rather than have to manually assemble each batch routine over and over and over.
Again, I presume it is a programmer’s personal tool that they published without much marketing feedback.
I look forward to v2.
.Mr.DaveGuest[@Peter Blaise] Nice summary, Peter. I agree with what you say AND share a very similar preference in tools. I think WinExt shows potential but share your concerns – I especially like to know what something is before I click it, and even more so with programs that can delete files.
Have you looked into FreeCommander XE? It seems to do everything WinExt does and much more (checksums, compare, synchronize, favorite files/folders, favorite tools, save selection lists…). It’s a very useful file explorer as well. I’ve been using it for a while now, rarely touch Windows File Explorer. I don’t use nearly as many additional programs. When something comes up I search the menus and usually find what I need in FreeCommander. And no, I don’t work for them, just appreciate a good product.
ManGuestHorrible piece of crap software, everything Trisun makes is low quality and totally useless…!
danGuestHow is this different from the WinExt Pro v8 you offered back in July 2018?
danGuestThe installation issued some err message about a ‘file not found’ but the product seems to have installed nonetheless?!?
