Instalation went OK but although Enlarger AI is shown as activated when I click on it nothing happens so it doesn’t start. I’ve restarted the PC which made no difference and checked on my DVDFab account and it’s shown as activated but it doesn’t work for me sadly.
[@Marty] When you start the program, the list of components of the main DVDFab program appears, and if you authorised the Enlarger AI component, then it should show as activated. At the bottom of this list there should be a start button, and if you click on that the DVDFab program will start. Click on the Launchpad icon and the Enlarge AI option should appear in the list of options available. I hope that helps a bit.
My review was blocked so I’ll need to post my comment here. I have this program on two computers and tried to upscale a good quality DVD rip to HD. After a day of processing I ended up with files that essentially looked exactly the same as the original. I think DVDFab isn’t being entirely honest about hardware requirements. Topaz is the gold standard for this type of program and neither of my computers meet the minimum requirements to run it. The GPU in the living room computer is compatible but the CPU isn’t because Pentium and Celeron processors lack a capability necessary for AI Video Enhancement. The CPU on the bedroom computer is a Xenon processor that is compatible but the GPU isn’t compatible with Topaz. It’s possible DVDFab Enlarger AI has similar technical requirements to work well but DVDFab doesn’t want to list them so they can sell more copies of their program. Depending on your hardware this program may work well or it may work poorly or not at all. Neither of my computers is low end–they are both dual processor systems with a ton of RAM running Windows 10 Professional and this program didn’t upscale video for me on either of my computers.
So, according to emperor, simply running this program requires you to start some sort of DVDFab program, hit start within that, wait for DVDFab program to start, click launchpad? I don’t think I want a program that requires a help manual to start it each time. And after all that it will likely not run on my 7-year old PC? (Core i7 processor). And if it does, it takes a day to process a DVD? Does it let you know up front if there’s some form of copy protection that would prevent success? Any options to to select degree of improvement vs. processing time? Is this an add-on that requires other DVDFab software?
Ok, I checked their website. My graphics card and processor are listed as the MINIMUM that will work, although the card is not shown on the list of supported NVidia graphics cards. I guess that means conversion time for me will be at the long end of their claimed “8 to 30 hours”. And since my card is minimum spec but not on the supported list, does that mean it won’t work? I think it’s best to wait for program and marketing to mature, and wait until I get a new PC.
Is anyone getting good results?
