because the SOS setups are built with ;InnoSetupVersion=6.1.0 (Unicode)
the installer itself is not compatible with XP and requires at least NT 6.0 to be recognised as a valid win32 executable.
IF any XP system user wants to put this on their LAN they’ll need to get innoextractor and extract the installer contents and manually install it or rebuild the installer using a version 5.x version of inno setup.
Ping is A way to detect devices but not all LAN devices respond to ICMP Ping messages… Personally I’d rather know if a new device MAC address appears on my LAN as that could/would indicate an intrusion…
Also bear in mind that this program only works on devices that respond to PING and have a static IP or an infinite lease on a dynamic IP assignments… not necessarily what most LANs have.
