iobit 6 month trials are not worth installing and an update checker is inadvisable for people that install giveaway licenses as most do not include updates in the license deals.
Crappy point: I have a prior version of this software that is REGISTERED with a Giveaway license. It expires in 1bout 2 weeks. This offer is good for only 6 days as of today. Trying to ‘Update’ the license is NOT an option. Uninstalling the older program and reinstalling the version with new license key does NOT recognize a fresh new install. It applies the old key (set to expire) no matter how you try to handle it. Anybody know how to get around that? Just an FYI…
[@Vcarvis] you have to reverse engineer the license storage location that iobit uses for the product and delete it manually… it’s the sort of thing I do generally but not with iobit as I don’t approve of their software being on ANY system I own, sorry you will have to learn how to reverse engineer/hack a little to do that OR wait for the 2 weeks to expire and the UI may then allow you to enter a new license key… you could try moving your system date ahead 3 weeks and running the program and see if it relies upon your system date or a server date to determine the license validity… just a thought :-)
