Weather built for people who spend their time outside.
Ghost Weather pulls data straight from U.S. government sources: the National Weather Service, NOAA, USGS, USDA and more.
I built Ghost Weather because none of the weather apps I tried had the data I wanted, so I made the one I did.
SEE THE PAST, NOT JUST THE FORECAST
• Up to 14 days of observed history, charted right next to the forecast
• Observed data drawn solid, forecast dashed, so you can see the trend at a glance
• How much rain fell this week, how cold it got last night, which way the pressure is heading
• Snow depth and water equivalent from the nearest SNOTEL station, with history
FOR THE BACKCOUNTRY
• Stream flow, gage height and water temperature from the nearest USGS gage
• River forecasts and flood stages
• Snow level, snowfall and ice accumulation
• Nearby wildfires and hourly wildfire smoke forecasts
• National park alerts for parks near you
• Soil moisture from nearby USDA stations
FOR WATER AND SKY
• Tides from the nearest NOAA tide station
• Measured waves, wave period and water temperature from nearby buoys
• Solunar fishing and hunting periods
• Sunrise, sunset, first and last light, moon phase, moonrise and moonset
• Aurora chance and dark-sky conditions
THE FORECAST, IN DETAIL
• Hourly and 7-day forecasts
• Feels like, wind and gusts, humidity, dew point, visibility, cloud ceiling
• Chance of thunder, UV index, air quality and heat stress (WBGT, HeatRisk)
• NWS watches, warnings and advisories
MAPS
• Radar, satellite, watches and warnings, and smoke layers
• Tap anywhere on the map to see the alerts for that spot
FAST AND OFFLINE-FRIENDLY
• Weather is saved on your device, so it opens instantly and still works out of signal
• Small updates, easy on data and battery
• Save up to 10 locations: trailheads, campsites, favorite rivers
Ghost Weather covers the United States only.
