I concur. This is a perennial question and applies to many offers. The phrase x-months (or years) licence should not be used, unless it’s qualified by what happens once the delay is expired. Does the software stop working outright, or becomes useless in practice, as would be the case with an antivirus not receiving updates anymore ? Or is it just that you stop being entitled to updates, but the program still works normally ?
Those are entirely different propositions. In the first case, you just get an extended trial version. Which might be OK, but it should certainly be made clear from the start, so that users would not lose time installing the program if that does not suit them.
