Do not use these types of programs. They are junk ware. They do not provide any benefit whatsoever to your computer, and they often do damage rather than help. Don’t take my word for it. Ask Microsoft, or ask someone on Tom’s Hardware. Registry cleaners, and other programs that claim to optimize or clean your computer, are the software equivalent of snake oil.

[@Dmitry] You need to register it to remove trial limitations…

You need to be very careful about updating this program even if it is the pro version. I have received this “pro” version in the past and thing go well for awhile. Then with no warning I was left with trial versions after an update. I would recommend using Time Freeze or similar before updating.

That makes sense. If you read the Terms & Conditions: “No free updates; if you update the giveaway, it may become unregistered” — this is true for most, if not all, giveaways.

My concern is that these same Terms state “lifetime license” — but Leon7 posted that it’s only for one year . . .

Thank you for your detailed comment, and images. The version of WinUtilities Pro that I have is v13.19, which I got here last December, and it does have a lifetime license (as did the GiveawayoftheDay offer you mentioned). It still works.

Based on your information, I’ll stick with my older version, and wait until another lifetime version is offered. Thanks again!
