GuestAnyone can use AI to create a tool like this in about an hour.

Guest[ @Ashraf] Version 1.1.0 – I copied some test credit card numbers with the PRT SCR key and it didn’t block it! 1 out of 5 for this “DOESN’T do what it says on the tin” app.

GuestOn my older Windows 8.1 when I go to “copy” or “cut” there is exactly one space for clipboard content. It is either used for a certain amount of text in the Windows internal text editor or in browsers, or for one or more filenames in the Windows Explorer/Filemanager.
There are additional programs that can overcome the limitation to 1 entry in this buffer, they allow you to chose from different clipboard content.
I assume this program is exactly from this category, it moves the clipboard content to a database, and this database is encrypted or something.I for myself, call me a simple mind, use the clipboard very often, but without any clipboard managers.
But it sometimes happens, mostly for selected text, that it does not copy the marked text to the clipboard. I thought in earlier Windows version like NT it always worked without any problems, in this newer Windows version the Mouse Cursor has to be over the selected area while copying it. If the Mouse Cursor is anywhere else, nothing is copied.
MY QUESTION: is there any most easy way or a very simple program that can give feedback and show if the selected text had been copied to the clipboard?

If it’s copied to the clipboard it will be discoverable in that simple free program. Personally I use Clipdiary and that produces a “click” sound on copying data to the clipboard and therefore the clipboard history… but obviously that “click” is a side effect not the function of the main program. Personally I don’t want a 3rd party program denying me the right to use my clipboard and history based on its guess on the nature of WHAT I COPIED TO MY CLIPBOARD and history. If I copy something secret to the clipboard because it’s too complex to reliably type in manually I can immediately after pasting it into the correct program go to Clipdiary and securely delete the secret entry and not lose functionality and not lose secrecy… All it requires is I think a little bit and do a minor bit of work… I hate the idea of cognitive offloading to an error prone piece of software possibly based upon AI statistical studies, not customised to my exact needs.

I don’t see it claiming to OCR a raster clipboard content or even pay any attention to raster image clipboard content at all but just copied text and maybe unicode text. PRT SCR makes a screenshot to the current clipboard not a copy of the text in a computer readable format. Copy the credit card numbers from a text application using CTRL+A, CTRL+C one at a time and then you will be testing it’s claimed functions… it should NOT block the immediate re-use/pasting of the copied text but clear the potentially sensitive text from the clipboard AFTER a predetermined timeout. It may not clear it out of third party clipboard history programs like the one I use as I don’t want the functionality or start relying upon a 3rd party program to do what is my responsibility and hope it never makes a single mistake
