Windows 10 Defender disabled the run of the program: SharewareOnSale_Giveaway_AllMyNotes_Organizer_Deluxe.exe .
Is it safe?I have yet to receive the activation code via e-mail.
They don’t send the key for registering the program. Although I followed with the greatest care the procedure to get it. If I get it, I’ll write again immediately to inform.

This says it comes with a life time code. Mine is for one year
[@Gabor] you probably need to right click on the executable and select unblock and then hit OK and try again. Or hit More Info in the windows defender block notice and select run anyway. It’s not a detection of anything malicious but the detection that the file came from the internet so is blindly producing a barrier to execution without proof of any wrong doing. In fact the installer should be digitally signed at last so is more trust worthy than previous distributed versions that weren’t digitally signed!
Well, this was a wasted 45 minutes of my life, getting nowhere with the KEY that never arrived.
using email to distribute license keys is fraught with trouble as it’s usually script generated email that do not include all the attributes that an email sent from a genuine email client program and many email servers or even SMTP relays nowadays silently drop such emails as likely script generated spam.
I have 4.14 of this from a previous giveaway that was auto-activated and did not require an additional key… while I’d prefer to have the less unnecessary writes to storage for the sake of my SSD longevity… I’d rather wait for something that has genuinely public beta tested BEFORE I trust my extensive allmynotes database to it.
I also not that on their website they state:
“System requirements: Windows XP and all higher versions – 11/10/8/7/Vista/XP, compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. Works under Linux and Mac (WineHQ-like environment required).”
Whether that is still true, your guess is as good as mine since it’s been built with a new SDK for better windows 11 compatibility.
It is NOT true… I just downloaded the portable edition of 4.16 and it is built for NT 6.0 (vista and above so will NOT work with XP. AND it’s not truly portable as I just ran the portable 4.16 under my Vista server and it went through the first run wizard and opened up to a blank database but when I closed it down and tried to run 4.14 that was working on the system just fine it is now broken! complaining about:“Error: File signature is missing or incorrect for the file C:\Program Files\AllMyNotes.exe. Please re-download the application from https://www.allmynotes.org/”
Fact that files digital signature is just FINE! no files have been modified in the installed 4.14 directory today… No idea what vlad has done but it’s NOT GOOD! Of course I cannot go and re-download 4.14 installer and re-install it as it was a special unofficial beta build for that giveaway only. Still investigating what is going on…
[@TK] I tried installing 4.16 under Vista and it’s not an installer but a downloader… and failed to download so installed the offline installer from vendors site which installed but presented the SAME signature error as 4.14 did after running the 4.16 portable edition just fine… I had several older versions on that system so tried a version 3.x version and it ran without issue so have set that to autorun on the Vista server, it used same database as 4.14 did originally so no data lost and remains deluxe activated… it’s a big step backwards thanks SOS and Vladonai

After about an hour, I received the code. All good!
