GuestThe only issue I have with this software is that I am NOT completely sure that I would particularly want to have a deep data scan done of any of my personal computer equipment and devices by a software produced by a company located in the heart of Communist China, where all businesses have a branch of the CCP embedded within their company.
Company Location. Chengdu QILING Tech Co., Ltd. Address: No.253, Fengshu Street, Jinjiang District, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
I have nothing against the Chinese people themselves but, I definitely do NOT trust the CCP

GuestVersion to be downloaded, it says, is V2.1.1 – but it downloads & installs V2.1.0 (which I already had!)

Guest[@Keith Freeman] Yeah.
The version number on the homepage is also 2.1.0, maybe it was some mistake when noting the version number down.

Yeah, it also wants to phone home too according to the firewalls.

Sounds like other governments (e.g. US) can be trusted. Yeah, PRISM never existed.

GuestWell, THAT was useless – I have a messed up SD card that free Google Picasa retrieves broken JPGs from but QLing sees nothing, yet free Pirifirm Recuva immediately sees hundreds of JPG images.
Note to those who fear phoning home – turn off Internet on computers running the software, and or block/firewall the program after installation and registration … but, QLing wise, don’t even bother with the program, it seems incapable of doing what even the free competition can do.
However, China wise, word peace through world trade, supposedly, we won’t bomb our customers or our vendors, right?
Right?

GuestThese right wingers will bring politics into ANYTHING they can think up. I guess they are so angry at the world they feel everyone else has to hear it. Can somebody with constructive criticism leave messages about this actual program instead?

I agree that we want more in the way of discussion of the pros and cons of the program, and that we don’t want to politicize computer forums, but in view of Communist China’s extensive record on cybercrime it is quite appropriate to bring the origin to attention.

(Shareware on Sale)Lots of problems:
No shortcut was placed on the desktop (or anywhere else).
Gray lettering on black background makes it very tough to read.
Can’t register using SOS supplied key. Just get a dialog box with a big red circle containing an “X” (and no dialog)
There is no way to restart a scan. You have to exit the program and start it again.
When I tried to send an error report, I described the error and clicked on “Save Report” button. The error reporting program closed with no indication that the message was sent (the error information was saved). Tried again but clicked on the “Send Report” button first – no indication that a report was sent.
Attempt to run the program:
I tried running the program and immediately got the same “big red circle” dialog box.
I clicked on that and the program came up. Picked audio files for recovery.
Clicked the “Next” button and selected the “C” drive.
Clicked on “Scan” button.
Went to the next screen that would presumably list the files to be recovered. Also had the “big red circle” dialog box.
Clicked on the dialog box and the box disappeared. No indication that a scan had started.
Clicked on the “Pause” button – no indication that a scan had paused (which would be expected if a scan never started).
Clicked on the “Stop” button, nothing happened.Windows 10 Pro, Version 20H2, Build 19042.1237

GuestSuccessfully installed and activated (or says it is), but will not recover found files from iMac RAW Drive. Progress bar flashes briefly then closes with no files actually recovered.
