GuestI prefer xmedia-recode it’s regularly updated, uses ffmpeg project binaries legally with GPU acceleration and is always free. One noticeable thing about THIS offering that although it’s an illegal unattributed redistribution of FFMPEG binaries in a closed source GUI it is quite reasonable on its pricing of the lifetime license at $6.99 usually these Chinese illegal ffmpeg GUI developers charge around ten times as much for their “work”

GuestA bit of a puzzle. Anyone know what the verb to shipe means? It is not a verb I have come across before and I cannot find it in my OED. Thanks

Guest[@TK] just tried the program it installs by default into the users appdata\roaming\kingshiper\ … sub-folder which is an insecure folder that executable files should NOT be placed. You can and should move it to a sub-folder of the c:\program files or a similarly write protected location for non-elevated processes on another drive if your C: drive space is short… I tried compressing a 26Mbyte FHD high fps GIF and got program to compress it using high compression and it did compress the GIF size without losing dimension of frame-rate BUT it did put a VERY VISIBLE grid of small rectangles that it used to make the smooth dithered colour transitions more compress-able the quality loss was very apparent unlike their claims of no quality loss. I have also done a re-compression of a FHD MP4 video and it just allows one to set a lower target bit rate using FFMPEG binaries and in my case the Nvida GPU acceleration not the Intel one… again by over compressing an MP4 video using same codec does result in VERY visible quality loss, it’s unavoidable! And the program works ok when installed into a write protected C:\Program Files sub-folder so *should* be installed there for security reasons. Note the default output location is a folder on the users desktop so most who want to keep their desktop tidy will want to put it somewhere else if they plan on keeping this.

Guest[@benasp] might mean something to the Chinese developer/vendor, I doubt they use the OED to decide what letters to combine to produce some text.
