GuestThis excellent software now understands multi-column printed text. To achieve this, you need to select “Auto-Detect Layout and Orientation” in the settings. Thanks a lot for this giveaway!

GuestThis is the cheapest known commercial GUI for the tesseract OCR engine, cheaper and less buggy than PCWinsoft one…
But Ashraf you have a significant error on your offerings main page, you state:
Supports Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Vovsoft state:
Supports: Windows Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista (32-bit & 64-bit)
BOTH are incorrect it is in fact:
Supports: Windows Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit)
It does NOT support XP or Vista anymore as the main executable has been built with a newer dev system that defaults to demanding procedures only found in Windows 7 or above.
The only thing apparently lacking is the ability to fine tune a photograph of text by fractional degrees left or right rather than just by large 90degree jumps. One hopes tesseract can adapt to not perfectly horizontal text lines…
I have noticed some bugs in this release and have reported them to the developer.

GuestWhat distinguishes this new version of OCR Reader 4 from the previous version, OCR Reader 3.3?
Vovsoft
Guest[@Tayseer] Thanks for asking! In recent versions of OCR Reader, we introduced new fine-tuning options to improve recognition accuracy and flexibility.
Previously, the software treated the entire input image as a single block of text. While this worked well for simple documents, it was limited when dealing with more complex layouts.
The new version has the following modes:
* Read One Text Block – Processes the image as a single, uniform block of text (similar to the old behavior).
* Find Scattered Text – Designed for images with randomly placed or separated lines of text.
* Auto-Detect Layout and Orientation – Automatically detects text orientation, columns, and overall layout for more accurate OCR on complex documents. For a full list of changes and improvements, you can also check the version history here:
