Remember as with ALL file erasers under Windows Vista and above if System Restore aka System Protection is enabled on a drive it will be practically impossible to securely erase data while system restore/protection is enabled as each time data is overwritten a shadowcopy is made in the VSS store. You would have to disable System Restore/Protection for that drive prior to overwrite erasure AND you’ll need to erase free space to overwrite previously deleted VSS store data which could otherwise be recovered using standard deep scan recovery software. Also remember if you have internal SSD drives then you do NOT need to overwrite erase as TRIM will perform the function in the background. The only time it reasonable to overwrite erase an SSD drive is if it is in a USB caddy of any type as windows does not TRIM deletes on SSD drives in USB caddies as it does not recognise such drives as SSD drive even if UASPI bridging is used. In those circumstances it is reasonable to do a single pass of zeros as some SSD firmware specifically looks for all zero sector writes as effective TRIM commands and does not perform an actual write of zeros to the FLASH memory but deallocates the FLASH memory from that LBA location and always read back a zero’d sector… specifically for cases where the interfaces or operating system does not support TRIM or deallocate command.

    No worries with PrivaZer.
By default, PrivaZer uses TRIM on SSD and 1 pass when TRIM is not possible.
Check under “Advanced options” in PrivaZer.
