How to install in another drive
@ Rec Remar : the only way to install on another disc or folder (especially with with softorbits which does not offer any choice) is to move the whole folder of the software where you want and use symbolics links, after the normal install. Learn how to via google (AI). Very simple. Don’t forget to delete the content of the original installation folder in c:\users\user name\appdata\roaming\softorbits\etc… after having copied it to the new place. Don’t delete the folder itself, only its whole content.
How to install in another drive
Normally you can use innoextractor to extract the installer contents and put them where YOU want but in these AI based badware programs they hard code downloading the AI inferences to the system drive also meaning you cannot avoid lots of writes and wasted space on your probably small and already stressed system drive… Theoretically you could create a partition on a separate drive and map it to the empty folder that Softorbits will put the AI inference models into so they will be downloaded to the other partition when softorbits tries to write to the unwanted location on the system drive… but you will lose recycle bin functionality in that partition unless you also map the partition as a drive letter too.
Personally I would not ask Google AI how to do anything technical and blindly trust it… I’d want it to cite it’s references and visit them myself and read it properly to make sure the information applies to what I am trying to do. Plus in that way the sources get the clicks and kudos they deserve too!
But for me and my systems I wouldn’t waste the effort taming Softorbits badware. They are made that way because Softorbits do not respect YOUR RIGHTS to a secure system, or to install things where you want or restrict the installation of risky badly written 3rd party programs on the systems you administer.
Downloaded the .exe file and tried to install. Got a message that I needed to install Python also. Did that. When trying to run, was directed to GRT software website which said thanks, but to get all features, you had to purchase a monthly or annual subscription. It was not Softorbits, and it was not expected. Went back and uninstalled all traces of this falsely offered software. Beware.

I’d really love to try this program out except, after installing (and registering) it, almost every menu selection brings up an error message “The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.” So I uninstalled the program and re-installed it and keep getting the same result.
Side note. When I uninstalled the software, it opened a web page for feedback about why I was uninstalling it. I filled out the form and clicked on submit and it gave me a network error. My internet connection is fine and I don’t have any issues anywhere else so I have to conclude that SoftOrbits is screwed up.
