Ooops, typo, should have been RESHADE.ME

[@peter brooke] your recommendation of Reshade.me, presumably a competitive offering, does absolutely nothing … as with most open source projects, it has no purpose but the uncommunicatable imagination of the programmers, who are unable to present any features, any benefits, any function.

But then, Stepok, a commercial enterprise, also apparently falls flat on it’s face.

    Go figure.

I wouldn’t even consider this without knowing more about its origins.
Also, I have used Reshade for almost a year, and it is certainly the best enlarger I ever saw, and it’s free.

    From their website –
Reshade is 100% free for everyone to use for personal or commercial purposes, with no expiry date and no pixel size limitation – within available memory.

I have NO problem running the downloaded .exe of StepokPESetup.exe from URL http://stepok.net/PictureEnlarger.htm I simply right-click the .exe file and “Run As Administrator” in a Windows 10 64-bit PC — I do not know f this was a “fix” for all the users unable to install the program. My only issue at this time is that the Program from StepOK does not come with a Serial Number for installation, So, I take for granted that this is a 30 Days Trial Version of the program which will then cease functionality, or be limited in some ways, without a licence purchase by myself. Now, listed on ShareWareOnSale.com as ” $79.00$79.00 Free! (100% off) ” [sic] .
Please do not advertise a software as ‘Free!’ when it is not, as it has no accompanying serial number with which to register the program at no cost for the user. Thank You.

[@peter brooke] Many thanks for mentioning Reshade! It was once available for $89 (v1.1, in 2008), and is now free. http://reshade.com/.

    @Peter Blaise:

    You misspelled “some”
    >as with most open source projects, it has no purpose but the uncommunicatable imagination of the programmers
    should be
    >as with some open source projects, it has no purpose but the uncommunicatable imagination of the programmers

Thanks to Open Source Apache running on Open Source Linux (for Sharewareonsale.com), you were able to post a comment.

It’s not so bad that some (or a few) Open Source projects do not measure up to some commercial projects; it is more important that some great ones have been developed as Open Source.

I remember a time when FTP clients could cost as much as $300. Thanks to a couple high school students, and their instructor that encouraged them, their simple FileZilla project has grown to the point that it would be difficult to think a commercial project could compete. Almost all the early FTP client competition has disappeared.

If it were not for Open Source, many commercial projects would not exist either. Almost all video manipulation products use ffmpeg, and many other Open Source libraries. If you check the installed dlls and know their true origin, you will see that Open Source has given us a lot more commercial options for a wide range of products.

We all benefit as a result of Open Source projects. Without it, the World Wide Web would be quite a bit different, and maybe just an idea still not available to the general public.

In some cases, only until you do some programming can you really appreciate what has been developed as Open Source.

Thanks to Linus Torvalds (and friends) not being able to afford to purchase a license for the UNIX OS, an operating system that universities could purchase for $300 but otherwise was closer to $3000 for the general public, that they decided to create their own. Thus Linux was born. It is owned by no one, but used by so many. Your security webcam is running Linux. Your Android OS was based on Linux. Your Apple computer OS was based on Linux. And with a very high assurance, your enterprise phone systems, your traffic lights, your emergency services, and your hospital are all running on Linux, not to mention that your Smart TV, and the stations that broadcast, and the services that stream video to you, are generally running on and depending on some form of Linux. Today’s Entertainment, Movie CGI, production, graphics, advertising, marketing, and other parts are all depending on Linux in a large way.

Thank God for Open Source and what it has given us.

    04/07/2018 – Stepok Picture Enlarger
we stayed on the promise that the vendor found an error in the program, and that it was going to fix the problem, and we did not get the software or the product key

Check out A Sharper Scaling too guys, it’s a free upscaling tool. http://a-sharper-scaling.com/

And in regard to ReShade, it’s kinda funny how a simple typo can change things, i didn’t even know about the image enlarger, only knew the post-processing injector, since i’m playing games a lot, good tip, added it to my list of free tools. :)

Other than that, i hope the deal comes back again at some point.
