Alan CohnGuest
When registering and hitting send, I do not get the confirmation of software registration. When I try to fill out and send the registration again from the software, I get an error message ERROR:
License key already used or invalid!
Any suggestions how to install the full program and give it a try would be much appreciated, thanx, Alan CohnEvgeniGuestI had to wait 10 minutes until I sent the registration information. Registration was successful. The output PDF is three times the size of the original. It does not recognize characters well, even only numbers. Almost unsuitable for use.
KondorilGuestFor me it did not even reach the step where I write my email address
It just stood there and nothing happened when I clicked “register full version”

MarvioGuestHi,
I have the same problem as user Alan Cohn. How could this be resolved?
Can you help me?

d adamsGuest@Peter Blaise. Thank you for your input here and on other offers. You save me a lot of time I would have spent on frustrating registration processes. I totally agree there is no needs for such complicated methods. Just give us the install file along with a registration key. Simple and easy. I will always skip programs that require more than one sentence to explain the install process.
Mr.DaveGuestI’ve been getting a lot of good results from ABBYY Screenshot Reader. Seems very accurate and it’s easy to use. Display the text to convert on your screen (use PDF reader, pic viewer, whatever it takes). Click the Capture button, drag a rectangle around the text to be OCRed, paste the results where you want. And it’s still free on SOS. It does nothing with formatting, just grabs text. No file browser on input or output, and no preview or correction mode, so Peter B, you may not like it! But it works very well for what it does and in my experience, accuracy is way beyond 98% (at least for English language, I haven’t tried the others it supports). It’s very handy for capturing error message text, parts of web pages that are pictures of text instead of selectable text. Keep in in memory or unload it when you’re done.
I’ve used other OCR programs (from ABBYY and others) and some are very nice — they highlight anything they’re not sure about and let you you fix it before creating the output file. Those programs are all very expensive, but if you have the need to convert longer documents and accuracy is critical, they are well worth it! As for today’s offering, I don’t see what it adds over ABBYY Screen Reader.

After clicking register & filled the field with “EZABW-UAY71-D6EHG-ONSALE” as license, I repeatedly receive:
“License key already used or invalid!”
Can you email me another license that would work, please?
Thanks,
Cezar P.

GeneGuestPeter,
As always, thanks much for your detailed review. (And always good to include recommended alternatives.)
“FREE Adobe CS Acrobat Pro PDF writer yeah, FREE, web search for it.”
I hope that this is not the same (circa 2008 ?) Adobe free edition that has been mentioned in the past. The one I’m thinking of still had too many assembly or setup hoops to jump through, some modules (like .DLLs) that were either outdated or required replacements one had to hunt around for, and in the end — despite closely following the instructions — I could never get it to work under Win-7. For a solution to really be viable, you should basically just have a straightforward one-shot install, and then off you go.
LaszloGuestText-r sent me nothing after registration. So it can’t be used. Tried two times to be sure with 2 of my @ mail address…. Just a waist of time.
