just adding : i hope you know where to find the uninstaller. all is in Appdata/Roaming (for most users hidden).
note : closing the program window, does not kill its process..

Same to me. Although another notebook without it accepted the installation, I decided to uninstall. It identified many files as potentially dangerous.
Could someone from Sharewareonsale or Softorbits say something about this?

Jotti scan with 13 AV products (including current Bitdefender) found no virus in the installer. Neither did Avira.

This must be a false positive. I had noch virus detection with Malwarebytes Antimalware, and virustotal.com has also no Malware founded.
After I have startet the Prozess, it takes 1 hour or more, till the transcription has finished, but the output is very good. I have transcripted a french Video and now I will translate it with deepl in my language.
It is true, that the program shows no progress, but it uses at minimum 80% CPU, so you can see that it still works.
Than after it has finished, it shows the Text with timestamps.

[ @Ashraf] Wow, version 1.0 with updating disabled! LOL, I loaded a video and it played it (with no sound) so I guess that is why it didn’t transcribe anything? If I am a guinea pig, for this program I shall squeak if it pleases everyone LOL.

installed on another disk than “c:\users\my user name\appdata\roaming\softorbits\TranscribeIt – Audio & Video to Text Transcriber” via a symbolic link. Learn how to use this possibility via google AI. This in order to free space on disk C:

Program requires access to your systems microphone before it will even start, my system or I have or need a microphone fitted. I was interested in this program purely to turn audio/song lyrics into text which this program states that it doe’s it doe’s not need a fitted microphone to do this. Emailed the company to see if they can provide a work around as of this morning no reply, I will be uninstalling this program.

Well they’re at it again… an installer LOCKED to installing into the system drive in the logged in users AppData sub folder which is an insecure place to install executables as it can be written to by any running process, even lowest user rights processes. They also steal GPLv3 licensed build of FFMPEG.EXE binary from FFMPE>ORG and incorporate it illegally into a closed source proprietary licensed product… of course this is released as version 1.0.0 built 11th June 2026 so has never been widely tested prior to release so WE ARE THE UNSUSPECTING BETA TESTERS stuck with a beta version. The AI model is tiny and I seriously doubt this will be effective.
On startup it creates a file called voice-dictation.log in the install location… The log file MUST be allowed to happen and make unnecessary writes to the system drive for their beta testing purposes or the program reports and error in the log module and terminates once you dismiss the error and then tries to download a 450MByte Parakeet 0.6b V3 AI Model from https://softorbits.sfo2.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/filesNew/parakeet-v3-int8.tar.gz using MSEDGEWEBVIEW2.EXE which if not present is installed during the unfriendly install process. It literally hangs until you allow it to download the file or X it out of the program and it is installed into can’t disclose as the download using msedgewebview2.exe did not function after it was allowed through the systems firewall… so beta test fail! I was able to download the tar.gz file manually using a real web browser so it is there on the digitaloceanspaces.com server… but the program fails to actually download it. So end result is the giveaway is unusable in current form. I suspect the intended destination for downloaded and unpacked tar.gz archive is the hard coded C:\Users\[WINDOWSLOGIN]\AppData\Roaming\com.softorbits.audiovideototext\models
