Downloaded Windows desktop app, created an account at Zenmate website, got the three months trial without probelm, installed app (on Windows 7 Home Premium x64 system) and it doesn’t work. Icon appears in taskbar tray but has no context menu to work with, and disappears in a minute. Nothing appears on desktop. The desktop shortcut is a “Click Once Application Reference (.appref-ma)” file type so there is not even a context menu entry for compatibility issues. They got my email and will gladly send me promos while I’m stuck with a non-working app. The prospect of having to spend a day and a half going back and forth with tech support by emailto fix this does not make me happy. Nothing in their FAQ page addresses my issue. Tired of these bust giveaways with no help in this “discussion” thread. Please do some in-house testing of this junk before offering them to the public.
Oh, and can’t find an installation folder in Program Files (x86 or x64) or anywhere in AppData. Thought I might be able to click the exe directly. The proprietary shrtcut doesn’t provide a clue as to where this is installed and if it’s under a folder name other than ZenMate. I’m very disappointed in this crap. I suspect that if I bother to try to uninstall there won’t be an entry in Programs and Features either. Done wasting my time with this. Sold my email address for zilch.

How bogus. After jumping through all the hoops and pitfalls to start up an account which is supposedly good for 3 months, guess what. “Your ZenMate Premium will expire on January 3, 2016.” Less than a week after signup. Give this a pass folks. Not worth the effort involved.
