AVI heeft te maken met technisch lezen. Bij technisch lezen gaat het om de techniek van het lezen: kan een kind snel en zonder fouten een tekst lezen? Kinderen die snel en (bijna) foutloos kunnen lezen, hebben een hoog AVI-niveau. Kinderen die nog niet snel kunnen lezen, of die daarbij veel fouten maken, hebben een lager AVI-niveau. Er zijn twaalf AVI-niveaus. Het laagste AVI-niveau is Start. Dat is het niveau van kinderen die nét begonnen zijn met lezen. Het hoogste AVI-niveau is Plus. Dat is het niveau van kinderen die snel en zonder fouten een lastige tekst kunnen lezen. Tussen AVI-Start en AVI-Plus liggen tien AVI-niveaus: M3, E3, M4, E4, M5, E5, M6, E6, M7 en E7. 'M' betekent 'midden' en 'E' betekent 'eind'. De cijfers 3 tot en met 7 geven aan in welke groep dat niveau gemiddeld bereikt wordt. In België komt groep 3 overeen met 1ste leerjaar. Volgens mijn 25-jarige ervaring in het 1ste leerjaar zou ik de volgende tijdstippen aan de niveaus koppelen. AVI S3 = midden 1ste leerjaar; M3 = einde 1ste; E3 = nov. 2de; M4 = midden 2de; E4 = eind 2de. Een goede technische leesvaardigheid is een essentiële voorwaarde voor begrijpend lezen. Bij deze korte teksten is er een kleurindicator die ongeveer de gewenste leessnelheid suggereert. Het is geenszins de bedoeling om kinderen af te schrikken bij het oefenen. Dus op voorhand de kinderen verwittigen dat die kleurindicator niet zo belangrijk is. Belangrijker is het foutloos lezen. Billiau Danny AVI has to deal with technical reading. When is technically read it to the mechanics of reading, a child can quickly and without error reading a text? Children quickly and (almost) flawless can read, have a high AVI level. Children who can not read quickly, or who are making a lot of mistakes, have a lower AVI level. There are twelve AVI levels. The lowest level is AVI Start. That is the level of children who have just started reading. The highest level is AVI Plus. That is the level of children who quickly and without errors can read a text difficult. Start between AVI and AVI AVI Plus are ten levels: M3, E3, M4, E4, M5, E5, M6, E6, E7 and M7. 'M' means 'middle' and 'E' means 'end'. The figures 3 to 7 indicate in which group that level is reached on average. In Belgium, three group matches 1st grade. According to my 25-year experience in the 1st grade, I would pair the next time the levels. AVI S3 = mid 1st grade; M3 = end 1st; E3 = Dec. 2nd; = M4 mid 2nd; E4 = end 2nd. A good technical reading skills is an essential prerequisite for reading comprehension. After this, short texts, there is a color indicator that suggests approximately the desired reading speed. It is not intended to deter children to practice. So in advance inform the children that the color indicator is not so important. More important is the error-free reading. Danny Billiau
