Doctor Honoris Causa por La Universidad Mesoamericana de Puebla Agosto 2015, ha sido Profesor-investigador, Director General Académico y Rector de la Universidad Autónoma Chapingo. Subdelegado de Desarrollo Rural del Departamento del Distrito Federal en Tláhuac, DF en 1991 – 1994 y 1996 – 1997 y Consultor de la FAO en Educación Agropecuaria. Delegado Regional de la Secretaría de la Reforma Agraria en los Estados de Puebla, Tlaxcala y Distrito Federal.
Secretario de Desarrollo Rural del Estado de Puebla, en 2000 – 2002 y 2005- 2008. Diputado Federal en la LIX y LXI Legislaturas al Congreso de la Unión. Ponente en congresos científicos y reuniones de especialistas en México, Francia, Cuba, Venezuela, Panamá, Costa Rica, Estados Unidos, Botswana, India, Colombia, España, El Salvador, Sudáfrica, Guatemala, Argentina, Chile, Alemania, Holanda, China y Brasil.
Autor de más de 10 Libros, destacando Herbolaria Mexicana, Agua para El Desarrollo Económico y Social, Cadenas Productivas agropecuarias y acuícolas del Estado de Puebla y Guías Básicas de Asistencia Técnica para el Desarrollo Rural. SINOPSIS
Cada año, durante la época seca, la mayor preocupación de los ganaderos en México y América latina es como abastecer de forraje a sus animales cuando no hay crecimiento de las especies forrajeras, durante esa época, los animales pierden peso que deben recuperar en la siguiente temporada de lluvias o, aunque menos grave, dejan de ganar peso y se pierden animales por muertes que significan mucho dinero para los ganaderos.
La conservación de forrajes para la alimentación del ganado es una práctica importante que debe realizarse en todos los sistemas de producción de animales herbívoros domésticos, toda vez que se busque disminuir los costos de alimentación y poder enfrentar las condiciones adversas que ocasiona el estiaje en la producción forrajera y como consecuencia en la producción de carne, leche y lana.
Para cumplir con éxito esta tarea es necesario contar con información práctica de fácil comprensión y adopción que sirva de apoyo en la preparación de estudiantes, técnicos y productores dedicados a la actividad pecuaria, con el objetivo de perfeccionar técnicas y promover innovaciones que permitan aumentar la eficiencia de los procesos productivos.
Pensando en contribuir para solucionar el problema de la falta de información accesible sobre la conservación de forrajes para la alimentación del ganado, se presenta esta compilación sencilla, que reúne los aspectos más importantes frecuentemente señalados por productores sobre el tema.
Espero que este manual tenga la utilidad que necesitan los ganaderos para mejorar la alimentación y la productividad de sus empresas pecuarias.

SYNOPSIS
Every year during the dry season, the biggest concern of farmers in Mexico and Latin America is like supplying fodder to their animals when there is no growth of forage species, during that time, the animals lose weight should recover in the next or rainy season, though less severe, stop gaining weight and animals are lost by deaths mean a lot of money for farmers.
The conservation of fodder for livestock feed is an important practice to be performed in all production systems herbivorous pets, every time you look for lower feed costs and to face adverse conditions caused by the drought in production forage and result in the production of meat, milk and wool.
To successfully accomplish this task is needed practical information easy to understand and adoption that will support in the preparation of students, technicians and dedicated to livestock farming producers with the aim of perfecting techniques and promote innovations to increase efficiency of production processes.
Thinking contribute to solve the problem of the lack of accessible information on the conservation of fodder for livestock feed, this simple compilation, which brings together the most important issues often raised by producers on the subject is presented.
