Reviews for Photomizer 2 Pro
I’ve taken advantage of many free giveaways over the years, and I can personally attest that this is one of the best ones. I don’t work for anyone that’s involved or affiliated with this giveaway, nor am I being paid or compensated for this review, but because no other positive reviews existed, I felt obligated to tell you about my experience with Photomizer 2 Pro v2.0.16 and to share a little more information about its features.
I have many old physical 4″ x 6″ pictures that I scanned onto my computer, as well as some other newer digital pictures that I took in poor lighting with my professional DSLR camera (when I was trying to learn how to use it). The pictures had average DIY quality, they didn’t look good on the computer, and most of them looked like they had a hazy gray tint or film on them. I proceeded to go through my arsenal of free software in hopes of finding something that would improve the look and quality of those pictures and I was pleasantly surprised with how well Photomizer 2 Pro v2.0.16 worked.
When we first click on “Open”, we can either select “Open File”, “Add Folder”, or “Open Camera”. Maybe the newer paid version 3 supports more file types, but Photomizer 2 Pro v2.0.16 only supports the following input formats:
.bmp, .jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .raw, .crw, .orf, .3fr, .nef, .raf, .mrw, .nrw, .dng, .cr2, .arw, .x3f, .rw2
However, please don’t let that stop you, because this software is really amazing! I used it to edit both JPG and CR2 pictures and they definitely resulted in clear improvements. The final edited pictures were created with the same dimensions, and due to the higher picture quality, the file sizes were slightly larger than the original sizes.
Surprisingly, the layout of Photomizer is quite simple. Along the top-left is a very short list of menus. On the left is a scrollable list that shows all of the pictures that have been selected, and two display modes are available. Either we can click on the “Detail list” to see the filenames, format, resolution, etc., or we can click on the “Preview list” to see small previews along with the filenames. Both lists can be a collection of various sources and file types all mixed together, and each picture has a checkbox to indicate which pictures should be edited or not.
If you double-click on a picture from the list, it will be displayed in the large center window, which can also be changed to full screen whenever desired.
On the top-right side of the screen, there’s an “Input Profile” dropdown list that includes the following options, which seems to help with preselecting suggested settings:
Slide Scanner, Digital Camera, Cellphone, Negative Film Scanner, Retro Grain, Retro Frame, Retro Effect, Webcam
On the middle-right side of the screen, the following categories of edits are available:
Negative, Repair, Optimize, Rotate, Effects, and Grain
Despite that being a short list, each category can also be expanded to display more settings and options, and each one can be selected or ignored via checkboxes. For example, Photomizer 2 Pro v2.0.16 greatly improved my pictures simply by selecting the “Optimize” category and then selecting the “Auto Correction” setting. I didn’t even need to make any manual adjustments, which is also an option.
If you previously double-clicked on one of the pictures from the list of selected pictures, which is then displayed in the large center window, then every time a category edit is selected or modified from the right side of the screen, we can instantly see a preview of the selected changes in the center window. The center preview window also wonderfully includes a vertical scrollbar so that we can see before and after comparisons in real-time, just like opening or closing a curtain, all before any changes are officially executed and saved. Furthermore, the “Detail list” also shows which categories of edits have been selected for each individual picture. If you have many similar pictures that you’ve selected in the list, such as a folder of scanned pictures, etc., we also have the option to duplicate the desired edit(s) to all of the other pictures simply by clicking on “Apply to all files”. That batch processing method worked very well for me, and it was very easy to do with great results.
Along the bottom of the screen is an overall summary of the selected pictures, what edits have been selected, and the selected output. Below the summary are two buttons: “Output Format” and “Start optimization now”. Surprisingly and unfortunately, there are only two file type outputs that are available: JPG and BMP, but we can use either automatic settings or manual settings for each one, and the manual settings include multiple customization options. We can also choose the “Target path” for where the edited pictures will be saved to.
I don’t write reviews very often, but basically, if you have any pictures that you wished looked better, especially if you have a folder full of pictures that you’re dreading to find time to manually edit one at a time, then I suggest that you give this amazing software a try, especially since it’s wonderfully being given away for free for a limited time. If you miss this giveaway, I recommend subscribing to the helpful SharewareOnSale email newsletter and watching for it in the coming months or years, because this is the second time that I’ve seen this software being given away here (in 2018 and in 2020).
I truly hope this review helps someone!

This might be good, but the example pictures showing improvements supposedly using this software include Shutterstock brand stock photos where the “before” half has been deliberately degraded. The “after” half is exactly as in the stock photos. So looks like fraudulent presentation of the software function.
