Reviews for Iris Pro
very good soft helping my eyes to reduce lighting strain
I’m not here to spoil anybody’s business. What this software does is similar to that of Night light included in Microsoft Windows 10. Just type into settings Night light and it takes you there. What you have to do is just move the slide toward the left side; you will see the brightness reducing until when you think it is okay for. Bingo! When you are satisfied turn off schedule. It is done. Any time you turn on your PC it switches automatically thereby reducing the brightness oof your screen. Thank you very much!
This software is good, hope more and more good
I have been running this for well over a year on two systems with 3 monitors. The difference in eye strain is dramatic. Let’s face it, eye strain is public enemy #1 for those of us who spend all day in front of our monitors.
I do a great deal of graphics work. If you are a graphic artist you may be concerned with this utility effecting your screen colors.
Surprisingly, I have not found it to be problematic in that regard.
Frankly, I wouldn’t run a system anymore, without it. No nonsense operation. Not a CPU hog, never crashes and you really don’t
need to fiddle with it much after you initially set it. Kinda set it and forget it. It’s one of my favorite utilities.
Modern research shows exposure to blue light produced by the screens before sleep can have adverse effects on an individual. It can damage light-sensitive cells in the retina and can distort your natural circadian rhythm and cause sleeplessness. It may even increase the risk of macular degeneration. The solution that seems possible is to cut down on usage of devices after sunset, but that’s not possible for most of us. Well, there is another solution to, that involves cutting down on blue light instead of cutting down on your device usage.
Iris Pro is a handy and useful software application, designed to protect your eyes from harmful effects of the computer screen. Along with filtering the blue light, this application will let you adjust the color, color temperature, and brightness to an optimal level that will suit your eyes the best.
Installation & Set-up
The installer size is ~37MB and the installation process is simple, straightforward, and takes no time at all. After launching it, you will not be able to see the extensive tools and settings untill you have entered the code and activated the Pro version. Once that is done,, you can div straight into tweaking different settings and options that come with this tool, to find the optimal settings that suit your eyes the best.
Pros
Clean UI
The UI has a modern look, and is clean and well-arranged to make it easy to use for all types of users, even the novices. By default, the advanced settings would be disabled, and users can just tweak around with three different modes, types, location, and timer. This is designed for the basic users, and requires minimum experience or knowledge. The automatic mode works in accordance with your local time and sets the screen setting to be easier to look at.
Advanced settings give users control of each and everything, and shows a huge list of different options and tweaks. These include Blue light, Brightness, Location, Transition, Moon, Lightness, Sleep, Manage monitors, Screen effects, Magnification, Artificial intelligence, and many more.
Screen effects, Color schemes, Fonts, and Timer
With the help of this application you can apply more complex color effects to the screen. Some screen effects can be helpful in case of color blindness. The available effects are Inversion, Grayscale, Negative Grayscale, Washout, Sephia, Photanopia, and many more. In color scheme, you have 4 types to choose from, and you can even choose the leading color of the scheme from red, blue, and green.
The fonts option let’s you render fonts differently system wide. Beautiful fonts are bad for the eyes, so if you want to take one step further at protecting your eyes, you can tweak with that option.
The timer let’s you customize time to take break when you’re working on your PC. The timer reminds you before the break is about to start, you can set different types of timer, and adjust its settings according to your preference.
Manage multiple monitors, and use Artificial intelligence
This tool can even help you if you have multiple monitors connected to your PC, and let’s you adjust settings on all the connected monitors. Moreover, you can turn on the artificial intelligence option that uses your camera to adjust your screen brightness and settings. It uses the lighting conditions in your room and the blink detection to adjust the settings.
Cons
Some features use a lot of system resources
Some features like Artificial Intelligence use a lot of CPU, this makes the feature useless for users with older or slow computers, as it will really impact the performance of the PC a lot.
No option to back up your current settings
There should be an option to back up all the current settings, and an option to restore them if you do not feel happy with the changes done by Iris. Moreover, the ‘Reset to default’ option does not seem to work. When I click it, everything goes back to normal, but after a few settings changes made by Iris are applied again.
Conclusion
Iris Pro is an innovative application, with a great idea and aim of reducing stress caused by screen to the eyes, and helping people sleep better. With this application, you can work for longer hours on your PC without having to worry about your eyes a lot. I have been using this tool for a long time now, and definitely recommend it to all the users who sit in front of the screen for prolonged hours.
Top !
……build with productivity .
Well , also MINECRAFT runs much better.Thanks.
I find the idea interesting, but the software just made the screen brightness go crazy, without the possibility of stopping it. I had to uninstall it. Best of luck with a better version!

Thank you for your review since you have said it messes brightness of the screen I would not use this product, rather i wonder how the developer even releases such a product?
Seriously? This is a “featured” review? A single anecdote qualifies as a review? An anecdote that could have been caused by anything, perhaps related to the application, perhaps to this particular user’s computer configuration (hw or sw), perhaps even to incompetence. Who knows? The thing is, it is not a review of the product by any stretch of the meaning of review. For reviews, see the ones below. They need not be positive, need not be negative, but they need to be balanced and fair, and more to the point, relevant to the product under review.
Iris is a software application designed to help you take better care of your eyes, especially if you are used to working on your computer for long periods. According to the manufacturer, the software is designed based on multiple medical researches for eye health and protection.
User interface
Iris has a very simple user interface showing the most important options such as the Night Color, Brightness, and the set time for taking breaks. After installation, Iris gave a prompt for restarting the computer just to get the right color configuration. The license section is hidden though –you have to enable advanced settings and navigate to page 23! You won’t see a notification after entering the license, just check at the top of the page and you should see the number of days increase to about a year.
Functionality
Iris has a number of night color selection options that you can easily choose from. The effects are applied immediately to your screen for easy previewing. If you don’t like the presets available, simply click on the advanced settings toggle and use the scroll bar to find your preferred settings.
The software allows you to specific a period after which you should take a break from your computer –it is set to 30mins by default. Also, you can choose to have a rest immediately and even the period a rest should last for.
The tabbed configurations in the advanced settings page are pretty awkward. A menu would have done a better job. Despite this, Iris allows you to calibrate the lighting and color settings for upto 4 monitors, and you can even change the font type.
Change the strictness level if you want to follow the procedure without failure and enable sounds for sound reminders during rest times.
Pros
• Has a couple of settings to for ensuring eye health and helping people with visual problems see clearly.
• Set rest periods and strictness levels
• Easily upload color calibrations
• Easily perform main functions straight from the windows dock
Cons
• Poorly tabbed interface makes it difficult to access some settings in the advanced section
• You have to exit the software from the windows dock
Conclusion
Iris is a decent software that makes it easier to make changes to the screen display, making it easier to protect your eyes. The software is simple and allows you to specify resting periods. However, the tabbed section in the advanced settings is hard to navigate.

This is one awesome review. Thank you very much. I will bookmark it and work hard to fix the issues. The tabbed interface is bad I know, but it was the easiest to make. Will fix it in the future :)
