There are more than 300 languages spoken in the United States. Langwij Finder Plus helps you identify the non-English language a person is speaking and informs the person that an interpreter will be called. The app is specifically designed to assist staff in public agencies and organizations managing federally-assisted programs where limited English proficient (LEP) persons have a right to equal access and language interpretation.
The user scrolls through the “I speak…” statements in 70+ languages and dialects so a literate client can point to his or her language. The user can zoom to enlarge text to assist persons with sight impairments. Tapping the “I speak…” statement displays a Rights Statement for most of the languages, informing the LEP person of the right to interpretation.
Langwij Finder Plus can supplement to the language identification posters and “I speak…” cards you may already use. It also has the advantage of being mobile and can be used when away from the office (on a project site for example). It's a convenient alternative to carrying a large “I speak…” poster or a card with very small print and fewer languages.
